The WPA 10-Ball World Championship 2011 was the third edition of the WPA World 10-ball Championship, the world championship for the discipline of 10-ball pool. [3] It took place from May 9 to 15, 2011. [2] [4] The qualification phase was hosted at the Star Billiards Center, in Quezon City while the final tournament which started from May 10, 2011 was hosted at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay. Dutch Huidji See won the event, defeating China's Fu Jianbo in the final 118. [5] The defending champion Mika Immonen lost in the last 64 round against Tomoo Takano. [6] [7]

Format

The 128 participating players were divided into 16 groups, in which they competed in a double elimination tournament against each other. [8] The remaining 64 players in each group qualified for the final round played in the knockout system. [9] [10] The event saw players from 44 different countries. [11]

Efren "Bata" Manalang Reyes is a Filipino professional pool player. A winner of over 70 international titles, Reyes was the first player to win world championships in two different pool disciplines. Among his numerous titles, Reyes is a four-time World Eight-ball champion, the 1999 WPA World Nine-ball Championship winner, a three-time U.S. Open winner, a two-time World Pool League winner, and a 14-time Derby City Classic winner. Reyes also represented the Philippines at the World Cup of Pool, winning the event with his partner Francisco Bustamante in 2006 and 2009. By defeating American player Earl Strickland in the inaugural Color of Money event in 1997, Reyes took home the largest single match purse in pool history of $100,000. The WPA World Eight-ball Championship (W8BC) is a professional eight-ball pool tournament that is sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association. From 2004 until 2012 was held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates and organized by Ahmed Ibrahim and Mithaq Jalali. He won the 2007 WPA World Nine-ball Championship, where he defeated the Philippines' Roberto Gomez 17–15 in the final to become the first British player to win the WPA World Nine-ball Championship.

The 2011 WPA World Eight-ball Championship was an eight-ball world championship, organized by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), and held 19–26 February 2011 at the Fujairah Exhibition Centre of the Al Diar Siji Hotel in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. A total of 116 players from all of the WPA's six regions participated.

The WPA World 9-Ball Championship 2006 was the seventeenth edition of the WPA World Nine-ball Championship and took place between 4 and 12 November 2006 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, Philippines. The event was to be held for the first time in the Philippines, on a two-year deal, including the 2007 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The championships were hosted by the World Pool Billiard Association (WPA).

The 2018 WPA 9-Ball-World Championship was a 9-Ball pool world Championships. The event took place between December 10 to 20, 2018 in the al-Attiya Sports Arena of the Al-Arabi Sports Club in Doha, Qatar. The Qatari capital held the event for the eighth time in a row.

The 2012 WPA World Nine-ball Championship was a professional nine-ball pocket billiards (pool) championship, sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and organised by Matchroom Sport. It was held from June 22 to 29 in Doha, Qatar, hosted by the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation. 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship World pool championship, held July 2019

The 2019 Predator World Ten-ball Championship was a professional pool tournament for the discipline of ten-ball organised by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and CueSports International. It was the fifth WPA World Ten-ball Championship; the previous championship was held in 2015. After plans for an event in both 2016 and 2018 to be held in Manila fell through, a 2019 event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas as part of a three-year deal for the event to be played in the United States was agreed. The event was held concurrently with the Billiard Congress of America's National Ten-ball event from July 22 to 26. The event was sponsored by cue manufacturer Predator Group.

The 2013 WPA 9-ball World Championship was the 22nd event in the annual WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The event took place from September 2 to 13, 2013 in Doha, Qatar.

The WPA 10-Ball World Championship 2015 was the fourth edition of the WPA World 10-ball Championship, the world championship for the discipline of 10-ball pool. It took place from February 17 to 21, 2015 at the SM City Activity Center in General Santos, Philippines.

Joshua Filler is a German pool player from Bönen, Germany. In 2018 Filler defeated Carlo Biado 13–10 to win the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The same year he was the youngest player to win the China Open and 2018 10-ball European Pool Championships. Filler became WPA and Euro Tour world number 1 in 2019, and later reached the final of the 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship before losing 10–7 to Ko Ping-chung.

The 2019 WPA World Nine-ball Championship was a nine-ball pool championship, which took place from December 13 to 17, 2019 at the al-Arabi Sports Club in Doha, Qatar. The defending champion was Germany's Joshua Filler, who won the 2018 event defeating Carlo Biado in the final 13–10.

Alexander Kazakis is a Greek professional pool player. Kazakis is a former European 10-ball champion, and regular 9-ball player. In 2018, he was the number one ranked player by the World Pool-Billiard Association.
