The season was held between 7 April and 8 October and raced across Austria, Italy, Czech Republic and Germany. [1] The races occur with other categories cars as part of the 2017 Austria Formula 3 Cup, this section presents only the Austrian Formula Renault 2.0L classification. [2]

Formula Renault Single-Seater Racing Championship

Formula Renault is two classes of formula racing popular in Europe and elsewhere. Regarded as an entry-level series to motor racing, it was first founded in 1971, and is a respected series where drivers can learn advanced racecraft before moving on to higher formulas.

The Swiss Formula Three Championship is a Level 2 European Formula Three car racing series made up of circuit races and also hillclimbs. Despite its name, the bulk of the series events was held in neighbouring countries due to the legal difficulties of organising motorsport events in Switzerland and the lack of available facilities in Switzerland. Most events were held in Italy and France. The series however did have a prominent role in promoting Swiss drivers. The championship folded in 2009, but restarted again in 2014. The Swiss Formula 3 Cup now is a championship run for Swiss drivers only that participate in the Remus Formula 3 Championships, Cup races simultaneously held with the Austria Formula 3 Cup.

The Formula Renault AsiaCup is a Formula Renault 2.0 championship held in Asia. The series debuted in 2002 and also held the China Formula Renault Challenge.

Nicholas Daniel Latifi is a Canadian-Iranian racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Williams Racing under the Canadian flag. He made his Formula One debut at the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix and is the 2019 Formula 2 runner-up.

Ed Jones (racing driver) Emirati-born British racing driver.

Edward Jones is an Emirati-born British racing driver, competing in the IndyCar Series for Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan. At different points in his career, Jones has competed under both British and Emirati licences. He is the 2016 Indy Lights champion, winning for Carlin Motorsport in his second season in the series. He joined the IndyCar Series in 2017 driving for Dale Coyne Racing, and placed third at the 2017 Indianapolis 500. He left after the year to race in IndyCar for Chip Ganassi Racing and a joint entry between Ed Carpenter Racing and sports car team Scuderia Corsa. After a one-year switch to the DTM championship in 2020, he returned to IndyCar in 2021 with Dale Coyne Racing, driving the team's joint entry with Vasser-Sullivan Racing.
