2019 Asian Formula Renault Series

The 2019 Asian Formula Renault Series (aka AFR Series) was the 20th season of the AFR Series since its creation in 2000 by FRD. The season began on 23 March at the Zhuhai International Circuit and ended at the same venue on 8 December after five events. [1] Joey Alders won the 2019 Championship in his debut season with his team BlackArts Racing Team.

Starting from 2015, drivers and teams compete in two classes, Pro (Class A) for drivers and teams competing with the 2013 FR2.0 car, and Elite (Class B) for drivers and teams using the FR2.0 old spec cars. [2]

2013 Asian Formula Renault Series is the 14th season since its being created by FRD back in 2000. The Series bases the races in Zhuhai International Circuit as 4 rounds of races to be held there. For 3 of them, AFR joined Pan Delta Racing Festival and for the season finale, it will be a support race of the Zhuhai 500 km Endurance Race. Moreover, the AFR series will return to Shanghai for this season as the series holds a round of races on May 1–2 at Shanghai International Circuit.

2014 Asian Formula Renault Series was the 15th Asian Formula Renault Series season since its creation by FRD in 2000. The series was based at the Zhuhai International Circuit, and four rounds of the season were held there. For 3 of them, AFR joined Pan Delta Racing Festival and for the season finale, it will be a support race of the Zhuhai 500 km Endurance Race. For the fifth round, at the Shanghai International Circuit, the series was the supporting race to the World Endurance Championship 2014 6 Hours of Shanghai In addition, the series also went to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for three-round race weekend.

The 2015 Asian Formula Renault Series was the 16th season of the AFR Series since its creation in 2000 by FRD. The season saw the introduction of the current 2013-spec FR2.0 car, which raced along the old-spec FR2.0 cars.

The 2016 Asian Formula Renault Series is the 17th season of the AFR Series since its creation in 2000 by FRD. BlackArts Racing Team (BAR) is a China / Hong Kong registered motor racing team that was formed in January, 2015. Its main operational headquarters is located within the Zhuhai International Circuit, in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province bordering Macau. The teams business operations predominantly focus on professional racing series in Asia including F3 Asian Championship, Asian Formula Renault Series/AFR Series, Circuit Hero Series, China Formula 4 Championship, and TCR Asia Series. Joey Alders is a Dutch racing driver from Den Helder. He is the reigning Asian Formula Renault Series and Asian Formula 3 champion, he won both single-seater championships in his debut year and is currently competing in the 2021 European Le Mans Series in the Eurointernational LMP3.
