The 2014 Protyre Formula Renault Championship was a multi-event motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars held across England. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers competing in 2 litre Formula Renault single seat race cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. The 2014 season was the 20th British Formula Renault Championship organised by the British Automobile Racing Club and the third season as the premier Formula Renault 2.0 championship in the United Kingdom. The season began at Rockingham Motor Speedway on 4 May and ended on 28 September at Silverstone Circuit. The series formed part of the BARC club racing meetings at six events all held in England, with three triple header events.
The championship was won by Pietro Fittipaldi, the grandson of two-time Formula One world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, for the MGR Motorsport team. Fittipaldi won 10 of the season's 15 races, including a streak of 8 successive wins over a trio of meetings between May and August. Fittipaldi won the championship by 65 points (on dropped scores) from Scorpio Motorsport's Piers Hickin, who won a pair of races, and like Fittipaldi, recorded 12 podium finishes. Fittipaldi's team-mate Matteo Ferrer finished third in the championship, edging out Fortec Motorsport driver Alex Gill, by five points; both drivers recorded a single win during the season. The only other winner during the season was a third MGR Motorsport driver, as Colin Noble won one of the two races in support of the British Touring Car Championship, at Silverstone.

The series formed part of the BARC club racing meetings and at six events, with three triple header events. A championship calendar was released on 20 November 2013, with the final round once again in support of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship. All rounds were held in the United Kingdom. [4]

British Formula Renault Championship referred to one of two Formula Renault championships that were held in the United Kingdom. The main series was Renault Sport UK's Formula Renault 2.0 UK championship which was held from 1989 to 2011 and was generally recognized as the British Formula Renault championship. However, in March 2012 it was announced that the Formula Renault UK series would not take place in 2012, with the series being ended definitively in September 2012. A secondary championship organised by the British Automobile Racing Club and known as the Protyre Formula Renault Championship was held continuously between 1995 and 2014. The championship was the only Formula Renault 2.0 championship operating in the United Kingdom after the demise of the main series, but was ended after the 2014 season.

The season began at Brands Hatch on 5 April and ended at the same venue on 4 October, after twenty rounds held in England. Dean Smith won the title, despite missing the opening rounds of the series. Harry Tincknell won the Graduate Cup for first-year drivers.

Making its debut in the series was the previous-specification Formula Renault UK car which ran alongside the existing BARC car in a one-class Championship.
Alice Elizabeth Fraser Powell is a British racing driver. In 2010, she became the first woman to win a Formula Renault championship and in 2012 became the first woman to score points in the GP3 Series. In 2014, she returned to racing in Formula Renault and added to her championship victories by taking first place in the International Class of the 2014 Asian Formula Renault Series. In 2019, Powell was one of the 18 women selected to compete in the inaugural W Series championship. During the course of the season's six races, Powell took four podium finishes, including a win at the series finale race at Brands Hatch, and finished third in the championship standings. Following an enforced hiatus caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Powell returned to the W Series for the 2021 championship and won the opening race of the year, at the Red Bull Ring.

Scott Aaron Malvern is a British racing driver, currently competing in the British GT Championship who is best known for winning the 2011 British Formula Ford Championship, the 2012 Formula Renault BARC championship and twice being nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.Malvern was also awarded the British Racing Drivers Club Henry Surtees Award in 2011 and the Autosport Club Driver of the Year in 2012. Clio Cup Great Britain is an entry-level one-make touring car racing motorsport category, and the current name in the long history of Renault one-make cups in the UK. It currently attracts drivers from across the United Kingdom to compete along with several drivers for European countries. The current 2024 Champion is Nicky Taylor. The championship has been run to various regulations over the years, and can trace its history back to 1974. Several former drivers have become successful in other Touring car racing formulae, including Andy Priaulx, who went on to become multiple World Touring Car Championship champion and Jason Plato who is multiple British Touring Car Championship champion. The championship formerly ran on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship. The series was most recently promoted by the British Automobile Racing Club, which was also the promoter from 1974 to 2011. Prior to this, SRO promoted the series in 2012.

Jake Cook was a British racing driver who competed in the Protyre Formula Renault Championship for Hillspeed. He was the nephew of former British Touring Car Championship driver Paula Cook. He won the MSA Young Driver of the Year award for 2010, the first recipient of the award.

It formed part of the extensive program of support categories built up around the BTCC centerpiece after signing a three-year extension to be on the package until the end of 2016. It was the 19th Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom season, commencing on 30 March at Brands Hatch – on the circuit's Indy configuration – and concluded on 12 October at the same venue, utilising the Grand Prix circuit, after sixteen races held at eight meetings, all in support of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship season.
