The 2024 season is the 12th season in the existence of Iwaki FC. It is the club's second season in the J2 League, the second tier of Japanese football. As well as the domestic league, they are competing in the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup, the latter for the first time in their history.

The 2019 J1 League, also known as the 2019 Meiji Yasuda J1 League for sponsorship reasons, was the 27th season of the J1 League – the top Japanese professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1992. This was fifth season of J1 League as renamed from J. League Division 1.
Kyowaan Hoshi is a Japanese footballer currently playing as a defender for Blaublitz Akita.
The 2023 season was Kashima Antlers' 31st consecutive season in the J1 League, the top flight of Japanese football since the introduction of professional football in 1993. The club finished the 2023 J1 League in fifth place, one place lower than the previous season. They also competed in the Emperor's Cup where they were knocked out in the third round and the J.League Cup where they reached the quarter-finals.
The 2023 season was the 11th season in the existence of Iwaki FC. It was the club's first season in the J2 League, the second tier of Japanese football after becoming champions of the J3 League in 2022. As well as the domestic league, they competed in the Emperor's Cup, in which they were knocked out in the second round. Iwaki finished the league season in 18th place, eight points clear of relegation.
The 2023 season was FC Machida Zelvia's 34th season in existence and the club's eighth consecutive season in the second division of Japanese football. In addition to the domestic league, FC Machida Zelvia also participated in this season's edition of the Emperor's Cup.
The 2024 Ehime FC season is the club's 54th season in existence and the first one back in the J2 League after a two-year absence. As well as the domestic league, they are competing in the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup.
The 2024 Blaublitz Akita season is the club's 59th season in history and the fourth season in a row in the J2 League. As well as the domestic league, they are competing in the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup.
The 2024 Albirex Niigata season is the club's 69th season in existence and the club's second season in the J1 League after a five-year absence. As well as the domestic league, they are competing in the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup.
