Zsazsa Zaturnnah is a fictional comic book superheroine created by Filipino illustrator and graphic designer Carlo Vergara. The character first appeared in the Filipino graphic novel, Ang Kagila-gilalas na Pakikipagsapalaran ni Zsazsa Zaturnnah, originally a self-published work in December 2002 consisting of two parts. It was later distributed and merged in a single volume by Visprint Inc.. The graphic novel won a National Book Award in 2003 given by the Manila Critics Circle. It was the 12th bestselling fiction book among Philippine publications in 2005 based on the records of National Book Store.

The film would have been directed by Mark Meilly, and Chris Martinez. The film also would have starred Richard Gomez, Paolo Contis, Sam Concepcion, Iza Calzado, Rufa Mae Quinto, Empress Schuck and Zsa Zsa Padilla. It was one of the 8 official entries for 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival but later on, the film sent a request letter to MMDA to pull out of the festival. On October 19, the film was replaced by Thy Womb.
The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival was the edition of the annual film festival that is held in Metro Manila, Philippines and is organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the film festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine cinemas and theaters in order to showcase locally produced films. The film festival began on December 23, 2014 and was kicked off by the yearly Parade of Stars' float parade starting from the Quirino Grandstand. It is expected to run until January 7 of the following year.

The film was produced by Regal Entertainment. It tells the story of a modern Chinese Filipino family. Beneath the facade of a typical well-off Chinese Filipino family, it also tackles the struggles of family life as well as how they managed to reunite themselves as one. The film was shown in theatres starting December 14, 2016, but was delayed due to insistent public demand that the film was re-run in theatres starting February 8, 2017. The film starred Richard Yap, making him the first male main protagonist in the Mano Po film series. It was also the second Mano Po film that was not directed by Joel Lamangan who directed Mano Po, Mano Po III: My Love, Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife, Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di and Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love.
