Humboldt Street Historic District, or Humboldt Island, is located west of Cheesman Park in Denver, Colorado on Humboldt Street between East Tenth and Twelfth Streets. It was the first residential district to be designated a historic district by the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission in 1972, and is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places.
Harperly Hall is an apartment building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. The building is located at the intersection of 64th Street and Central Park West and was built from 1910 to 1911. One of the city's few buildings designed in the Arts and Crafts style, Harperly Hall was designed by Henry W. Wilkinson. The structure was listed as a contributing property to the federally designated Central Park West Historic District in 1982 when the district was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Drake Court Apartments and the Dartmore Apartments Historic District, built between 1916 and 1921, is located at Jones Street from 20th to 23rd Streets in Midtown Omaha, in the U.S. state of Nebraska. Built in combined Georgian Revival, Colonial Revival and Prairie School styles, the complex was designated a City of Omaha Landmark in 1978; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1980. The historic district originally included 6.5 acres (2.6 ha) with 19 buildings. In 2014, boundary of the historic district was expanded by 0.74 acres (0.30 ha) include three additional buildings, and decreased by 3 acres (1.2 ha) to remove open space and parking that had been re-purposed, for a new total of 4.24 acres (1.72 ha). The district was also renamed to Drake Court Historic District.
The Cass–Davenport Historic District is a historic district containing four apartment buildings in Detroit, Michigan, roughly bounded by Cass Avenue, Davenport Street, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The Milner Arms Apartments abuts, but is not within, the district.
The Washington Park Historic District is a national historic district located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 24, 2008. It comprises nearly 60 acres (240,000 m2) and is located 4 miles (6.4 km) north of downtown Indianapolis, in the south-central part of the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood. The district includes all properties south of 43rd Street and north of 40th Street, and west of Central Avenue and east of the alley running north and south between Pennsylvania and Meridian Streets; Washington Boulevard runs north-south through the center of the district. It includes 110 contributing buildings, ranging mostly from mansions to small bungalows, and three non-contributing buildings.
The Santa Fe Apartments were an apartment building located in Detroit, Michigan. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and subsequently demolished by Wayne State University and removed from the National Register of Historic Places in 2022. The site is now the location of the Yousif B. Ghafari Hall.
The Wilson is a historic Renaissance Revival apartment building located at 643 Fort Wayne Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1905 amid an apartment-building boom; more than fifty such apartment buildings were completed in what is now central Indianapolis in 1905 alone.
The Humble Oil Building, is a historic office building, designed in the Italian Renaissance architecture style, located at 1212 Main Street in Houston, Texas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed by Humble Oil and Refining Company in 1921. The tower section was added on to the building in 1936. The building complex served as the company headquarters for Humble Oil and Refining Company from 1921 until 1963, when the company moved into what is now the ExxonMobil Building at 800 Bell Street. In 2003, the building complex was renovated for use as a combination hotel and apartments, the apartment section was converted to additional hotel rooms in 2015.
The Emelie was built in 1902 by German immigrant Frederick Schmid and named for his wife. The building was saved and restored by Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects to serve as the company's corporate headquarters from 1987 to 2003. It is three stories, constructed of red brick and gray limestone. The building also includes a garden level. It is built in the German Renaissance Revival Architecture style. It has fine decorative detailing, totaling 35,000 square feet (3,300 m2). It has also served as an apartment building and commercial space.
The Sylvania is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1906, and consists of two three-story, detached glazed brick and grey limestone buildings. It features Renaissance Revival style door and window surrounds and Classical Revival style design elements.
Shortridge–Meridian Street Apartments Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 136 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1900 and 1951, and includes representative examples of Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, Late Gothic Revival, Mission Revival, Renaissance Revival, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and Art Deco style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Shortridge High School. Other notable buildings include the Vernon Court Apartments (1928), Fronenac Apartments (1951), Biltmore Apartments (1927), Meridian Apartments (1929), New Yorker Apartments (1917), Howland Manor (1929), Powell-Evans House (1911), Harms House (1906), Dorchester Apartments (1921), and Martin Manor Apartments (1916).
The Marian Apartments in Griffin, Georgia, at 400 W. Poplar St., were built in 1919 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
Montgomery Court, at 215 E. Eleventh Ave. in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, was built in 1908. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
The Officer Eric H. Talley Post Office Building, also known as the Boulder Post Office or Boulder Main Post Office, at 1905 Fifteenth St. in Boulder, Colorado, was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as US Post Office—Boulder Main in 1986. On August 4, 2022, following the 2021 Boulder shooting, the building was dedicated in honor of police officer Eric Talley, who was killed while responding to the shooting. Local Congressman Joe Neguse introduced the legislation to rename the post office in the months following the shooting, which was signed into law in March of 2022.
The Dickinson Branch Library, at 1545 Hooker St. in the West Colfax neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, is a Carnegie library which was built in 1914. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
The Highland Park in Denver, Colorado, is a 7-acre (2.8 ha) park area bounded by Highland Park Place, Federal Blvd., and Fairview Place. It was developed as a park in 1907, and since 2013 it has included the Woodbury Branch Library. The park, with the library considered a contributing building, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, as part of a Multiple Property Submission of historic resources of Denver's parks and parkways system.
The Okmulgee Downtown Historic District is the original downtown area of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, roughly bounded by 4th Street, 8th Street, Okmulgee Avenue, and the Frisco tracks. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 17, 1992.
George Louis Bettcher (1862–1952) was an American architect based in Denver, Colorado. He designed a number of buildings which survive and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places for their architecture.
The Salerno Apartments are a historic apartment building in Portland, Oregon, United States. Built in 1929–1930 in the Mediterranean Revival style, its courtyard evokes "a quiet street in an old Mediterranean town". Architect Carl L. Linde experimented with garden court-type apartments in the nearby 1929 Sorrento Apartments, and perfected the form in the Salerno building.
