Altan Jalab is a village in Afghanistan. At the turn of the 20th century, it was the end of the 30th stage on the Jalalabad-Faizabad-Rustak road, about halfway between Faizabad and Rustak. The area is also said to have been the location of extensive ruins of the town and fort of Kala-i-Zafar. More recently, Altan Jalab has been reported as the name of a small town about 27 miles southwest of Faizabad, with a stream in the vicinity. [1]
Badakhshan is a historical region comprising parts of modern-day north-eastern Afghanistan, eastern Tajikistan, and Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County in China. Badakhshan Province is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Much of historic Badakhshan lies within Tajikistan's Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in the southeastern part of the country. The music of Badakhshan is an important part of the region's cultural heritage.

The Boorana or simply Borana are one of the two major subgroups of the Oromo people, a Cushitic ethnic group. They live in the Borena Zone of the Oromia Region and Liben Zone of the Somali Region of Ethiopia, former Northern Frontier District of Northern Kenya, The Tana River in the former coast province of Kenya and also in central Somalia. The Boranas living in Kenya and Ethiopia speak a dialect of the Oromo and those living in central Somalia share a dialect with Dirr communities of Somalia, a language that is closely related to both the Borana Language and the Somali Language. The Borana people are notable for practicing the Gadaa system without interruption especially those residing in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, a larger percentage of Boranas in the Liban Zone of the Somali region and those in central Somalia were Muslims, whereas those living in the Borena Zone of Ethiopia and those in Kenya mostly practice the Christian and Islamic religions, but few still hold purely to their culture especially those in Sakhu Constituency of Marsabit County.
Ayodhya district is an administrative district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city of Ayodhya is its administrative headquarters. The district occupies an area of 2,522 square kilometres (974 sq mi), and had a population of 2,470,996 in the 2011 census. Ayodhya district shares its borders with 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh. It is bordered by Gonda and Basti districts on the northern side, Amethi and Sultanpur districts on the south, and Ambedkar Nagar and Barabanki districts share the border on the east and west.

It is a domestic airport under the country's Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA), and serves the population of Badakhshan Province. Security in and around the airport is provided by the Afghan National Security Forces.
Fayzabad District is one of 30 districts that comprise Badakhshan province, Afghanistan. The city of Fayzabad serves as its capital. Ahandara is a valley and settlement in Takhar Province on the Kunduz River. The valley is crossed by the road from Kunduz to Faizabad, and located about 22 miles west of Teshkhan. There is also a village by the same name in Badakhshan Province, located on the road from Taloqan to Faizabad, about 15 miles west of the Lataband Pass.
Alim Dara is a village in Afghanistan that had earlier been the first stopping point on the road from Talikhan to Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. At the turn of the twentieth century, it was said to house a permanent population of about 300 families. The area also included at the time cultivation, a stream, and canals.
Ao Barik is a village in Afghanistan. It lies roughly 15 miles southwest of Faizabad in Badakhshan Province. There is also a valley of that name in Afghanistan, descending north from the Kaoshan pass.

Darra-e Kūr or Bābā Darwīsh, is an archaeological site in Badakhshan province in Afghanistan. It is situated just northeast of Kalafgān near the village of Chinār-i Gunjus Khān 63 km (39.1 mi) east of Taloqan, on the road to Faizabad. The cave is situated atop the side of the valley near the hamlet of Bābā Darwīsh.
Badakhshan University is located in Badakhshan province, northeastern Afghanistan. Established in 1988, Badakhshan University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Faizabad.
