Zameer Ahmed Khan (born 1 August 1966) is an Indian politician serving as the Cabinet Minister in the Government of Karnataka. [1] He is a 5 time MLA of Chamrajpet Constituency and managing partner of National Travels.
BP Basheer Ahmed Khan founded National Travels. After his death in the early 1950s,his eldest son B Ataulla Khan took charge of the company followed by his brothers namely:B Ziaulla,B Sanaulla,B Anwarulla,B Rahmathulla,B Noorulla,and B Sirajulla. They were succeeded by a third generation,led by B Ataulla Khan and his brothers.
He is a member of the Legislative Assembly,Cabinet Minister Govt. Of Karnataka and former General Secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Janata Dal (Secular). [2] [3] Khan was the former Minister for the Hajj and Wakf Board for government of Karnataka.
In 2005,S. M. Krishna was appointed Maharashtra governor,which paved the way for Zameer's political growth. When Krishna vacated Chamarajpet's seat to take up the governor's post,JD(S) fielded Zameer who beat Krishna's lieutenant R. V. Devraj. Subsequently,Zameer was sworn in as Haj and Wakf minister in the JDS-BJP coalition government under H D Kumaraswamy. On 25 March 2018,Zameer along with 6 other MLA's of the JD(S) party officially joined Indian National Congress. [4] [5] [6]

Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna is an Indian politician who served as Minister of External Affairs of India from 2009 to October 2012. He was the 10th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004 and the 19th Governor of Maharashtra from 2004 to 2008. SM Krishna had served as the Speaker of the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha from December 1989 to January 1993. He was also a member of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha at various times from 1971 to 2014. In 2023,Krishna was awarded the Padma Vibhushan,the second highest civilian award of India.
The Janata Dal (Secular) (transl. People's Party (Secular);abbr.JD(S)) is an Indian regional political party recognised as a state party in the Indian states of Karnataka,Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh. It was founded by the former prime minister of India H. D. Deve Gowda in July 1999 as a breakaway faction from the Janata Dal.
Siddaramaiah,also referred to by his nickname Siddu,is an Indian politician who is serving as the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2023. He also held that position previously from 2013 to 2018,being only the second person to hold that office for a full five-year term. Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yediyurappa,often referred to by his initials BSY,is an Indian politician. He is currently serving as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary board committee since 17 August 2022,termed as the highest office of authority in the party. The election for the Piriyapatna constituency was postponed to 28 May 2013 due to the death of the BJP candidate for the seat. The voter turnout in the state was 70.23%.
