Belfast South and Mid Down is a parliamentary constituency in the United Kingdom House of Commons.
Following the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat of Belfast South was subject to boundary changes and renamed Belfast South and Mid Down. It was first contested at the 2024 United Kingdom general election. [1] [2]

In time for the 2024 United Kingdom general election, the Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland recommended expanding the current seat to become Belfast South and Mid Down covering central Belfast, Finaghy, Drumbo, and Carryduff. [2]
The constituency comprises twelve wards of Belfast City Council (Belvoir; Blackstaff; Central; Finaghy; Malone; Musgrave; Ormeau; Ravenhill; Rosetta; Stranmillis; Upper Malone; and Windsor)
- nine wards of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (Beechill; Cairnshill; Carryduff East; Carryduff West; Drumbo; Galwally; Knockbracken; Moneyreagh; and Newtownbreda)
- one ward of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council (Saintfield). [3]

Castlereagh was a local government district with the status of borough in Northern Ireland. It merged with Lisburn City Council in May 2015 under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, with a small amount being transferred to Belfast City Council.

The 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies was the most recent cycle of the process to redraw the constituency map for the House of Commons. The new constituency boundaries were approved by the Privy Council on 15 November 2023 and came into law on 29 November.
The 2024 general election in Northern Ireland was held on 4 July 2024, with all 18 Northern Irish seats in the House of Commons contested. The general election occurred after the recently completed constituency boundaries review.
