It was built in 1901, and is served by Amtrak. It is also an intermodal station with Richmond's city transit bus services, which are performed by Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC). It is colloquially known by residents as The Clock Tower. It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark. Main Street Station serves as a secondary train station for Richmond providing limited Amtrak service directly to downtown Richmond. Several Amtrak trains serving the Richmond metropolitan area only stop at the area's primary rail station, Staples Mill Road which is located five miles to the north in Henrico County.
Rapidan is a small unincorporated community in the Virginia counties of Culpeper and Orange, approximately 5 miles (8 km) northeast of the Town of Orange. The community, located on both sides of the Rapidan River, was established in the late eighteenth century around the Waugh's Ford mill. The Orange and Alexandria Railroad built a line through the town in 1854, a post office was built at the river crossing, and its name was changed to Rapid Ann Station. Milling remained a major industry in the area up through the mid-twentieth century.
The Apex Union Depot is a historic railroad station located on Salem Street in downtown Apex, North Carolina and is the centerpiece of the Apex Historic District. Constructed in 1914 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, the building shared service with the Durham and Southern Railway, but now houses the Apex Visitor's Center, Apex Chamber of Commerce, and meeting rooms rented out for special events. A 37-foot Louisville and Nashville Railroad caboose is located beside the building. In December 1998 the Apex Union Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Southbridge station is a former train station in Southbridge, Massachusetts. Built in 1910 by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad (NYNH&H), it is a rare local example of Spanish Mediterranean architecture, and is the only surviving railroad building in the town. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 as New York, New Haven & Hartford Passenger Depot. It presently serves as the town's registry for motor vehicles.

The Virginia & Truckee (V&T) Railroad Depot of Carson City, Nevada, is a historic railroad station that is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is significant for its association with the economically important role of the V&T railroad historically in Carson City following discovery of the Comstock Lode mine in 1859. To a lesser degree, according to its NRHP nomination, the depot building is also significant architecturally "as a well-preserved example of a wood-frame passenger depot procured from a railroad company pattern book within the V&T's former sphere of operation."

The district includes 532 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, and 2 contributing structures in the city of Danville. The district reflects the late-19th century and early-20th development of Danville as a tobacco processing center and includes residential, commercial, and industrial buildings reflecting that growth. It also includes archaeological sites related to early Native American settlements in the area. Notable buildings include the American Tobacco's Harris Building, the Imperial Tobacco Company Building, Cabell Warehouse, Patton Storage Units, Crowell Motor Company, Municipal Power Station (1912), Riverside Cotton Mill #1 (1886), and a variety of "shotgun" houses and bungalow workers housing. Located in the district are the separately listed Danville Municipal Building and Danville Southern Railway Passenger Depot.

The Sandown Depot is a former railroad station of the Boston and Maine Railroad in Sandown, New Hampshire. Built in 1873–74, it is the best-preserved of stations built by the Nashua and Rochester Railroad to survive, remaining relatively unaltered since its construction, and still at its original location. It is now a local history museum, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2011.
The Boones Mill Historic District encompasses the historic center of the town of Boones Mill, Virginia, United States. The 45-acre (18 ha) district includes the town's commercial and civic heart, as well as a residential area lying adjacent. Included in the district is the 1780s Boon-Angell-Ferguson House, a log structure at 300 Easy Street which by local lore was built by Jacob Boon, who first settled the area. Other significant buildings include the 1912 Farmers and Merchants Bank at 75 Boones Mill Road, and the Boone Mill Supply Company building at 100 Easy Street.
