The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & Nippon Sharyo C751B is the third generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the North–South and East–West lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system since early 2000, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries & Nippon Sharyo (KNS) under Contract 751B. 21 trainsets of 6 cars each were purchased at S$231 million, and it is the first rolling stock to feature VVVF insulated-gate bipolar transistor traction control system. Kawasaki manufactured 66 cars and Nippon Sharyo manufactured 60 cars respectively with no comparable differences, having been built to agreed specifications. These trains are the third generation of rolling stock to be used on the two lines.
The Siemens C651 is the second generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the North–South and East–West lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by Siemens Mobility (SIE) and SGP Verkehrstechnik under Contract 651. A total of 114 cars consisting of 19 train-sets were purchased in 1992 and introduced into service from 1995 onwards. These trains were built by Siemens in Austria. They are well known for their unique propulsion, which makes a melodic and noticeable sound.

The Jurong Region Line (JRL) is a future Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line that will serve the western part of Singapore. The Thomson–East Coast Line (TEL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore. Coloured brown on the rail map, it is fully underground. When fully completed, the sixth line on the country's MRT network will serve 32 stations over 43 kilometres (27 mi) in length, becoming one of the world's longest driverless rapid transit lines. It runs along a combined north–south and east–west corridor, starting in the north at Woodlands town, passing through Upper Thomson and the towns of Ang Mo Kio and Bishan, heading south to the city-centre at Orchard Road and Marina Bay, subsequently heading eastwards along the eastern coast of the country through Kallang, Marine Parade and southern Bedok before ending at Upper East Coast.
CRRC Nanjing Puzhen is a Chinese railway rolling stock manufacturer, based in Puzhen, Nanjing city. It is a subsidiary of CRRC. Nanjing Puzhen has supplied trains to Shanghai Metro Line 3 and Nanjing Metro in partnership with Alstom.

The Bombardier MOVIA C951 is the first generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the Downtown Line of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. The contract was won by Bombardier Transportation and the rolling stock was built by Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicles. Initially, the authorities had ordered 73 trains, although LTA had ordered an additional 15 trains and a final 4 more trains under C951A which makes a total of 92 trainsets were manufactured under C951.

Their introduction to the network has increased the capacity of both lines by 15%.
The Alstom Metropolis C751C is the second generation of communication-based train control (CBTC) electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the North East line of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. 18 trainsets of 6 cars were manufactured by Shanghai Alstom Transport Co Ltd, Deliveries began in July 2014. All 18 trainsets were delivered by 2015.
The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CSR Qingdao Sifang C151B is the fifth generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the North–South and East–West lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) & CRRC Qingdao Sifang under Contract 151B. 45 trains were purchased and all of them have been delivered to Singapore as of 12 April 2017. SMRT took delivery of the first 2 train cars on 21 May 2015. These trains increased frequency for the two MRT lines, North–South and East–West lines.
The Cross Island Line (CRL) is a high capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line under development in Singapore. It will run in an east–west direction from Changi to Jurong Industrial Estate via Loyang, Pasir Ris, Hougang, Serangoon North, Ang Mo Kio, Sin Ming, Bukit Timah, Clementi and West Coast. From Pasir Ris, the line will branch off to Punggol. The 58-kilometre (36 mi) line will replace the East West Line as the longest line on the MRT network upon its complete opening by the 2040s, serving about 27 stations.
The MTR Urban Lines Vision Train (traditional Chinese: 港鐵市區綫願景列車; simplified Chinese: 港铁市区线愿景列车; also named MTR CRRC Qingdao Sifang EMU and also known as Q-Train, is a new rolling stock ordered by MTR Hong Kong in July 2015. They began replacing all of the aging Metro-Cammell EMU trains starting from 27 November 2022. The order currently consists of 744 cars.

The Alstom Metropolis C851E is the third generation electric multiple unit rolling stock introduced on the existing North East and Circle lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by Alstom under Contract 851E. It consists of six North East line trains and 23 Circle line trains. The trains will be manufactured and assembled in Alstom's manufacturing facility in Barcelona, Spain and progressively shipped to Singapore from 2021 for the NEL and 2022 for the CCL. The contract, valued at S$249,854,305.00, was awarded by the Land Transport Authority during a ceremony held at Sengkang Depot. Alstom is the sole bidder for this contract. An additional 12 3-car trains will be purchased for use on the Circle line, from 2024 onwards.
The Alstom Movia R151 is the seventh generation electric multiple unit (EMU) rolling stock in operation on the existing North–South (NSL) and East–West (EWL) lines of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. It is manufactured by Changchun Alstom Railway Vehicles, a joint venture of Alstom and CRRC Changchun under Contract R151 as part of their Movia family of trains.
The Hyundai Rotem J151 is the first generation electric multiple unit rolling stock to be introduced on the Jurong Region Line of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by Hyundai Rotem under Contract J151. 62 three-car medium-capacity Hyundai Rotem trainsets will be delivered from 2024 onwards and service will commence when the line opens in 2027.
