Shinichi Kudo, known in some major English adaptations as Jimmy Kudo, is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the manga series Case Closed, created by Gosho Aoyama. A high school detective, he is forced to ingest a poison after an encounter with members of a criminal organization. Due to a rare side effect, the poison did not kill him, but instead shrunk his body into that of a child, forcing him to adopt the pseudonym Conan Edogawa. He lives with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her father as he awaits the day he can take down the organization that poisoned him and reclaim his original identity.

<i>Magic Kaito</i> Japanese manga series and its adaptations

Magic Kaito is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. It premiered in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday in June 1987. It is Aoyama's first serialized manga. The story depicts the adventures of Kaito Kuroba, a teenage magician who secretly operates as the internationally-wanted phantom thief Kaito Kid.

<i>Case Closed</i> season 1 Season of television series

The first season of the Case Closed anime was directed by Kenji Kodama. It was produced by TMS-Kyokuichi in cooperation with Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation. The series is based on Gosho Aoyama's Case Closed manga series. In Japan, the manga series is titled Detective Conan but Case Closed was adopted for the anime version to avoid legal issues. The series' plot is based on the adventures of a teenage detective Jimmy Kudo, reverted to childhood through a poisoning. The season initially ran January 8, 1996, through August 12, 1996 on Nippon Television Network System in Japan. Episodes one through twenty-eight are collected in a seven DVD compilation produced by Shogakukan and released in Japan between the twenty-second and twenty-fourth of February 2006. The first season was then licensed and dubbed by Funimation Entertainment for release in English speaking countries. Case Closed was aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block and on Canada's YTV station. The English adaption was collected and released on a four DVD compilations between February 21, 2006, and September 19, 2006. The English adaption of season one was later released in a DVD boxset by Funimation on July 22, 2008, and contained the first twenty-six episodes, or twenty-five according to the Japanese numbering system. The season one DVD boxset Viridian edition was released on July 14, 2009. For the fifteenth anniversary of the anime series, the episodes were made available for video on demand in Japan.

<i>Holmes Revelation</i> 217th story arc in the Case Closed series

Holmes' Revelation is the 217th story arc of the Japanese manga series Case Closed, known as Meitantei Conan in Japan. The arc was published in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine between August and October 2010 in issues 36 to 46 and consisted of 10 chapters. The individual chapters were then collected into tankōbon volumes 71 and 72 which were released in Japan on February 18, 2011 and June 17, 2011 respectively. The majority were encapsulated into the 71st volume which became the 21st best selling manga in the first half of 2011.

<i>Case Closed: Zeros Tea Time</i> Japanese manga series

Case Closed: Zero's Tea Time, also known as Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takahiro Arai. It is a spin-off of the Case Closed manga by Gosho Aoyama, with Aoyama supervising the project, and is centered on the character Toru Amuro. The first part of the story was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday from May 2018 to May 2022. A six-episode anime television series adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment was broadcast from April to May 2022.

<i>Case Closed: The Culprit Hanzawa</i> Japanese manga series by Mayuko Kanba

Case Closed: The Culprit Hanzawa, also known as Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mayuko Kanba. It is a spin-off to the original manga Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama and stars the black-silhouetted "criminal" that appears in the main series to represent the mystery culprits. Kanba launched the manga in Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S in May 2017 and its chapters have been collected in nine tankōbon volumes as of October 2024. An anime television series adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment aired from October to December 2022.

<i>Detective Conan: Police Academy Arc</i> Japanese manga series by Gosho Aoyama and Takahiro Arai

Detective Conan: Police Academy Arc – Wild Police Story is a Japanese manga series written by Gosho Aoyama and illustrated by Takahiro Arai.
