Church of Christ in LaRoche Township (also known as Academy Congregational Church) is a church in Academy, South Dakota. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. [1]
Academy is an unincorporated community in Charles Mix County, in the U.S. state of South Dakota. Academy is located at 43°27′23″N99°04′47″W.
The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is the United States federal government's official list of districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects deemed worthy of preservation for their historical significance. A property listed in the National Register, or located within a National Register Historic District, may qualify for tax incentives derived from the total value of expenses incurred preserving the property.
The church was built in three sections, the first being the original, one-story Church of Christ in LaRoche Township built in 1893. In 1898 the Colvin Church was moved to 6.5 feet (2.0 m) to the site by 42 horses, and was attached to the west side. In 1902 a rear annex was added. [2]
Eliot Congregational Church is an historic Congregational church at 56 Dale Street, at the corner of 118-120 Walnut Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. The main church building was designed by J. Williams Beal and built in 1873. It is built out of Roxbury puddingstone. A second chapel was added in 1889, and a two-story addition was added 1899-1915. The main chapel has a stained glass window manufactured by the studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany.
The Church of Our Most Merciful Saviour, also known as the Santee Mission, built in 1884, is a historic Carpenter Gothic style Episcopal church located on the Missouri River in the Santee Indian Reservation in Santee, Nebraska. Although its side windows are not arched, it otherwise exhibits all the common features of Carpenter Gothic churches: board and batten siding, lancet windows on the front along with a circular rosette window, belfry tower on the side and main entrance on the side though the belfry tower.
The Northwood Congregational Church is a historic church at 881 1st New Hampshire Turnpike in Northwood, New Hampshire. The Greek Revival wood frame building was built in 1840, and is one of the finest and least-altered Greek Revival churches in the state. First Congregational Church of Austin, also known as Greater Holy Temple of God in Christ, is a historic church at 5701 West Midway Place in Chicago, Illinois. The church was built in 1905 for a Congregational assembly; it was later used by Seventh-Day Adventist, Roman Catholic, and Church of God in Christ congregations. Architect William Eugene Drummond, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the church in the Prairie School style; it is an unusual example of a Prairie School church and was influenced by Wright's Unity Temple. The one-story building consists of a tall central section with massive piers and a smaller section to either side. The entrance is recessed in the base of the central section; the doorway features lintels and posts that continue the building's rectilinear emphasis. Leaded glass windows are recessed in the spaces between the central section's piers.

Designed in the Romanesque Revival style of architecture, it was built in 1895 by Sandusky builder George Philip Feick (1849-1932). On October 20, 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. First Congregational is still an active member of the United Church of Christ.
