Dave O'Neill is a British manager who is the team manager of the Haas F1 Team. He has been working in Formula 1 since 1998, starting his career at the Jordan team.
O'Neill began his racing career as Jordan's team principal in 1998 and remained with that team until 2005. After a period working as chief technical coordinator for A1GP. During this time he also served as Team Principal for Team Ireland, winning the A1GP championship in the fourth season of the series (2008–2009). He returned to Formula 1 after being hired in 2009 by Manor Grand Prix (later renamed Virgin Racing, and Marussia) as their team principal. [1]
In 2015 he was hired to be the team manager for the Haas F1 Team. O'Neill's experience was invaluable to the Haas F1 Team as his task on joining Manor was to build a Formula 1 team within six months. Recruiting staff, purchasing equipment and infrastructure, supervising the car design and selecting suppliers were just some of the many tasks he took on in the new team. [2]
