The Suttor River forms the western boundary of the locality. The Suttor Developmental Road passes through the locality from east to west crossing the Suttor River on the western boundary. The Goonyella – Abbot Point line (GAP railway line) passes through the locality from north to south to the North Goonyella coal mine in neighbouring Moranbah. [3]

The Suttor River is a river in Central Queensland, Australia. The Belyando River is its main tributary. The river has its origins in the Leichhardt Range, north west of Glenden. It flows into Lake Dalrymple, becoming a tributary of the Burdekin River.

The Suttor Developmental Road is a highway in the east of the Australian state of Queensland. It runs in SE-NW direction and has a length of 167 km. It connects the Peak Downs Highway with the Bowen Developmental Road. It is signed as State Route 11.

North Goonyella coal mine mine in Australia

The North Goonyella Coal Mine is a coal mine located in the Bowen Basin at Moranbah in Central Queensland, Australia. The mine has coal reserves amounting to 175 million tonnes of coking coal, one of the largest coal reserves in Asia and the world. The mine has an annual production capacity of 2 million tonnes of coal. 2.6 million tonnes of coal were produced in 2012.

The land is a mixture of freehold and leasehold and mostly has been cleared for low density cattle grazing; however, mining activities have been proposed for the locality. [4]
