Foort van Oosten (born 25 June 1977 in Dordrecht) is a Dutch politician and lawyer. As a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie), he was a member of the House of Representatives between 20 September 2012 and 20 February 2019. On 20 February 2019 he was appointed as mayor of Nissewaard. [1] [2] [3]
Previously, he was a member of the municipal council of Schiedam from 2010 to 2011, and subsequently an alderman of this municipality from 2011 to 2012. [1]
Van Oosten studied law at Leiden University. He is married, and has a son.
In February 2020, he lobbied for a national knife ban following a spate of stabbings involving teenagers. [4]
In September 2020, Nissewaard councilor Peter van der Velden filed a complaint against the municipality and mayor Foort van Oosten for raiding his home in Spijkenisse without permission. Officials of the civil affairs department, at the behest of Van Oosten, started an investigation on suspicions that Van der Velder did not live within the municipality and therefore may not be a councilor there. Bellingwedde was a municipality in the province Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. Bellingwedde was established in 1968, when the municipalities of Bellingwolde and Wedde merged. After almost 50 years, Bellingwedde was disestablished in 2018, when the municipalities of Bellingwedde and Vlagtwedde merged into Westerwolde.

Cornelia Johanna "Carola" Schouten is a Dutch politician of the Christian Union (CU). She was Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and Third Deputy Prime Minister in the third Rutte cabinet from 2017 to 2022. She continued to serve as Third Deputy Prime Minister in the fourth Rutte cabinet alongside her position as Minister for Poverty Policy, Participation and Pensions until July 2024. On 10 October 2024, Schouten became the mayor of Rotterdam succeeding Ahmed Aboutaleb.

Jan Hendrikus Cornelis van Zanen is a Dutch politician who has served as Mayor of The Hague since 1 July 2020. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously served as Mayor of Utrecht (2014–2020) and Amstelveen (2005–2013). Jan van Zanen also was national chairman of the VVD (2003–2008). He has been president of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) since 3 June 2015.

Nissewaard is a municipality in the Netherlands, located on the island of Voorne-Putten, in the south of the province of South Holland. It was created through a merger of the municipalities of Spijkenisse and Bernisse on 1 January 2015.
Leendert Arent-Willem de Lange is a Dutch politician. He has been mayor of Wassenaar since 18 July 2019. Previously he was a member of the House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, serving from 31 March 2015 to 23 March 2017 and once again from 31 October 2017 to 3 July 2019. De Lange was alderman in Noordwijk between 2006 and 2013 and in Wassenaar between 2013 and 2014 where he also served as deputy mayor.

Drs. Ferdinandus Johannes Maria Crone is a Dutch politician. He was born in Dordrecht in 1954. On 15 November 2007 he became Mayor of Leeuwarden. He remained mayor until 26 of August 2019 when he was succeeded by Sybrand van Haersma Buma. As of February 2020 he is a member of the Senate.
G. J. A. M. "GertJan" Nijpels was a Dutch administrator and a politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. He was the mayor of the municipality of Opmeer from 15 May 2005 until 8 February 2021, after serving as acting mayor from 15 June 2004 until 15 May 2005. Nijpels was due to retire during mid-2021, but died suddenly at the age of 69 on 8 February 2021.
Barbara Catharina Kathmann is a Dutch politician, serving as a member of the House of Representatives since 2021. She is a member of the Labour Party (PvdA). Before being elected to the House, she served as a municipal councilor and alderwoman in her hometown Rotterdam. Kathmann has also worked in media and at two nonprofit organizations.
Dijk en Waard is a municipality in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia, the Netherlands. It was formed from the merger of Heerhugowaard and Langedijk on 1 January 2022.
The fourth Rutte cabinet was the cabinet of the Netherlands from 10 January 2022 until 2 July 2024. The cabinet was a continuation of the third Rutte cabinet and was formed by the conservative liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), the social liberal Democrats 66 (D66) and the Christian democratic Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) and Christian Union (CU) after the election of 2021. The cabinet fell on 7 July 2023, after failing to reach an agreement on separate treatment of refugees fleeing from war. It continued serving as a demissionary cabinet until the Schoof cabinet was sworn in on 2 July 2024.
