DLSU Radio-Green Giant FM (also known as GGFM) is an internet campus radio station owned by the De La Salle University, with management handled by the Student Media Office. The station's studio is located at Br. Bloemen Hall in the university's Taft Avenue campus in Manila. Green Giant FM is currently streaming online with live shows every weekdays (except during semester breaks), and automated music during off-peak hours.

Despite being an internet station, it also serves as a community radio station of DLSU and of the Lasallian campus.

History

In 2008, a group of Lasallian students under the organizations Team Communications (TeamComm) and Electronics and Communications Engineering Society (ECES) created a collaborative effort to form a new station of DLSU, under the name Green Giant FM. It began its broadcast during the beginning of the new academic year 2008–2009. [1]

On May 25, 2018, the station celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Bro. Andrew Gonzales Hall in DLSU. The event was gathered by performances from live bands and other personalities, who were also previously part of the organization. [2]

De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, also known as Benilde and abbreviated DLS–CSB or simply CSB, is a private, Catholic research college run by De La Salle Brothers located in Malate district of Manila, Philippines. It operates four campuses all of which are located within the vicinity of Malate. The college is a member institution of De La Salle Philippines (DLSP), a network of 16 Lasallian institutions. DLS–CSB is also a member of a network of over 1,100 Lasallian educational institutions in 80 countries.

KALX Radio station at the University of California, Berkeley

St. La Salle Hall Four-storey structure

The history of De La Salle University dates back to 1911, when the Christian Brothers opened the De La Salle College (DLSC) in Nozaleda Street, Paco, Manila, Philippines. Radyo Katipunan (87.9 MHz) is a low-power FM campus radio station owned and operated by the Jesuit Communications Foundation in coordination with the Ateneo de Manila University. Its studio is located at Sonolux Building along Seminary Drive, with its transmitter located within the university's Loyola campus; both are found in Katipunan Ave., Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Radyo Katipunan serves as a community station of the Ateneo campus. Radyo Katipunan airs Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including semestral breaks.
