The Hayes Hardware Store is a historic commercial building at 314 DeQueen Street in downtown De Queen, Arkansas. It is a brick 1+1⁄2-story structure, sharing party walls with adjoining buildings on either side. Its brick facade is divided into two three-bay sections, with brick pilasters at the ends and in the center. Above the first-floor storefront windows is a clerestory level, above which is an attic space, where each of the six bays has a small oculus window. Above the second and fifth bays (the center bays of each group of three) is a rounded arch. The building was built c. 1900 by the Dierks Lumber and Coal Company, which built the De Queen and Eastern Railroad, making the city the commercial center of Sevier County. The building was acquired in 1908 by the Hayes Hardware Company. [2]

The E. Janssen Building at 422 First Street, Eureka, California, is a two-story Italianate commercial building. It was built in 1875 to be a hardware and general merchandise store. In 1973, it was the first building in Eureka to be placed on the United States National Register of Historic Places, and it was listed as a contributing property of the National Register Old Town Eureka Historical District in 1991. From 1998 to 2016, the building housed the HSU First Street Gallery, an art gallery run by Humboldt State University.
The DeQueen Commercial Historic District encompasses part of the commercial heart of downtown De Queen, Arkansas. The district is centered on the block containing the Sevier County Courthouse, a three-story brick Colonial Revival structure built in 1930. It includes buildings facing the courthouse square on West DeQueen Avenue, West Stilwell Avenue, and North Third Street, and extends an additional block eastward to North Second Street. This commercial heart of the city was developed mainly between 1900 and 1920, and includes 21 historically significant buildings. Notable among them is the former Hayes Hardware Building at 314 West DeQueen, built c. 1900, and the Bank of DeQueen at 221 West DeQueen, also built c. 1900.
The Old Bell Telephone Building is a historic commercial building at 109 North Ash Street in downtown Osceola, Arkansas. It is a two-story flat-roof brick building, built in 1911 to house the town's telephone exchange. The building is three bays wide, with the door in the right bay, with a transom window above. There is an original brass slot for accepting payments between the doorway and the center window. The building was built by R. C. Rose, a local attorney who owned the telephone exchange.
Kocourek and Son Hardware is a historic commercial building at 110 East North Front Street in Hazen, Arkansas. It is a two-story brick structure, with commercial Italianate styling typical of the early 20th century. It has two storefronts, each with plate glass display windows and recessed entrances, on the ground floor, and four pairs of sash windows on the second, set in segmented-arch openings. Above this are two bands of brick corbelling, with four brick panels articulated by pilasters, each panel with a wrought iron grill at the center. It house the named hardware store from its construction until 2002, and is the city's finest example of early 20th-century commercial architecture.
The Wait Block is a historic commercial building on Main Street in Manchester Center, Vermont. Built in 1884–85, it is a distinctive late example of vernacular Italianate design, executed in brick and marble. It notably survived the 1893 fire that devastated the village's business district. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
