Catlett is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fauquier County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 297. It is located west of the Prince William County line. Catlett was formerly a rail stop on the Orange and Alexandria Railroad, and the area was the site of many raids on the railroad during the American Civil War.

Weston is a historic home and farm located near Casanova, Fauquier County, Virginia. The original section of the house was built about 1810, with additions made in 1860, 1870, and 1893. The original section was a simple, 1+1⁄2-story, log house. A 1+1⁄2-story frame and weatherboard addition was built in 1860, and a 1+1⁄2-story frame and weatherboard rear ell was added in 1870. In 1893, a two-story frame and weatherboard addition was built, making the house "L"-shaped. This section features a steeply-pitched gable roof with gable dormers and decoratively sawn bargeboards and eaves trim—common characteristics of the Carpenter Gothic style. Also on the property are a number of contributing 19th century outbuildings including the kitchen / wash house, smokehouse, spring house, tool house, blacksmith shop, stable, and barn. Weston is open as a house and farm museum.
The Hollow is an historic property and dwelling located near Markham, Fauquier County, Virginia, U.S. A part of the John Marshall's Leeds Manor Rural Historic District, it was the boyhood home of Chief Justice John Marshall, and includes the second-oldest dated home in the county. Both the property and the district are listed in the Virginia Landmarks Register (2003) and National Register of Historic Places (2004).
Number 18 School in Marshall is a historic one-room school located at Marshall, Fauquier County, Virginia. It was built about 1887, and is a rectangular frame building, covered with weatherboard, and resting on a stone foundation, with a metal gable roof with a centrally located brick stove flue. Atop the roof is a reconstructed cupola. It is the only surviving unimpaired one-room schoolhouse in Fauquier County. It was originally constructed for white students, then from the fall of 1910 to 1964, a school for African-American children.
Built in Warrenton in 1808, the sixth jail in Fauquier County, Virginia ran for only fifteen years before a new jail was erected behind it after a lawsuit with the Commonwealth of Virginia. In those fifteen years the four-cell jail saw death and disease from neglectful conditions. Soon after the 1823 jail was constructed, the 1808 jail was transformed into a jailer's house, so that he and his family could move in and care for the prisoners. A two-story sandstone addition was added onto the original brick structure to serve as a kitchen and second floor bedroom. It was operated as a jail until 1966, when the Fauquier Historical Society saved it from demolition and created a museum.
Beverley Mill, also known as Chapman Mill, is a historic grist mill located north of Interstate 66 and Virginia State Route 55 in Thoroughfare Gap near Broad Run, Virginia, straddling the county line between Prince William and Fauquier Counties. It was built about 1759, and is a five-story, four bay by three bay, rubble stone structure. The water power was provided by Broad Run which, in its 1,300-foot (400-metre) passage through the Gap, drops 87 feet. Exterior mill machinery included a 29-foot (8.8-metre) metal waterwheel and sluice gate as well as a stone mill race. The mill continued in operation through World War II. It is included in the Thoroughfare Gap Battlefield.
The Broad Run–Little Georgetown Rural Historic District encompasses a large rural landscape in northeastern Fauquier County, Virginia, and a small portion of neighboring Prince William County, Virginia. The district covers about 9,500 acres (3,800 ha) of rolling hills, that has an agricultural history dating to the 18th century. It is roughly divided by the John Marshall Highway, and is bounded on the west by The Plains, the east by the Bull Run Mountains, and the south by Pignut Mountain.
