Sri Lanka is a unitary multi-party semi-presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the President of Sri Lanka is both head of state and head of government. Executive power is exercised by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers. Legislative power is vested in the Parliament. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

She also worked as the Deputy Chairwoman of the Director Board of Dabindu Collective,a non-profit organization located in the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Katunayake,that is concerned about the protection and promotion of women worker rights.
Punya Sri Kumara Jayakody is a Sri Lankan politician and a member of the National People's Power. She was appointed as a Member of Parliament for National List in 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election as a member of the National People's Power. She is an engineer by profession and is a national executive member of NPP.
Prof. Ruwan Chaminda Ranasinghe is a Sri Lankan politician and a member of the National People's Power. He was appointed as a Member of Parliament for National List in 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election as a member of the National People's Power. He is the Dean of Faculty of Management at Uva Wellassa University as well as the chairman of Uva provincial tourism board.
