She began her acting career at a young age, starring in the 1978 blockbuster Kundala Keshi directed by Wimalanath Dissanayaka. Kumara Jayakody is a Sri Lankan politician and a engineer, who has served as the Minister of Energy of the Government of Sri Lanka since November 2024. He is a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka from National list since November 2024 as a member of the National People's Power. He is also a national executive committee Member of NPP.
