Kin's Farm Market was founded in 1983 by Kin Wah and Kin Hun Leung, [4] who were at the time recent graduates of Vancouver Community College, [5] [6] at an eight-foot table at the Granville Island market in Vancouver, British Columbia. [7] Four years later, they opened their first retail location at Blundell Centre in Richmond, British Columbia, naming it Kin's Farm Market. Three years later, they opened a second store. By 2001, Kin's had opened a total of twelve stores, and by 2012 they had opened close to thirty. [8]
Kin's Farm Market organize and participate in many community events, including the Green Fighter program, [9] [10] [11] the Dirty Apron Team, [12] and the BC Blueberry Festival. [13] The company has also raised funds for the David Suzuki Foundation [14] and medical research. [15] [16]
In 2013, The Georgia Straight magazine named Kin's Farm Market the best produce store in the British Columbia lower mainland area, and the market was given a Best of Vancouver Readers' Choice Award. [17]

The Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL), formerly Pacific International Junior Hockey League, (PIJHL) until 2012, is a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey league which operates in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Although the PJHL has included American teams in the past, the league's fifteen franchises all currently reside in the districts of Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, and the Sunshine Coast of BC. An electoral redistribution in British Columbia was undertaken by the BC Electoral Boundaries Commission beginning in 2014 and was formalized by the passage of Bill 42, the 2015 Electoral Districts Act, during the 40th British Columbia Parliament. The act came into effect on November 17, 2015. The redistribution added two seats to the previous total, increasing the number of MLAs in the province from 85 to 87. On October 21, 2021, the Government of British Columbia appointed Justice Nitya Iyer, Linda Tynan and Chief Electoral Officer Anton Boegman to serve as the 2021 commissioners.
