A post office called Koshkonong operated between 1839 and 1935. [2] The community took its name from nearby Lake Koshkonong. [3]

Rock County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 163,687. Its county seat is Janesville. Rock County comprises the Janesville-Beloit, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Madison-Janesville-Beloit, WI Combined Statistical Area.
Koshkonong is a town in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,763 at the 2020 census. The town entirely surrounds the city of Fort Atkinson. The unincorporated communities of Koshkonong Mounds and Vinnie Ha Ha are located in the town. The unincorporated communities of Blackhawk Island and Koshkonong, as well as The Census-designated place of Lake Koshkonong are also located partially in the town.
Milton is a town in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,100 at the 2020 census. The City of Milton is within the town, although it is politically independent. The unincorporated communities of Charlie Bluff, Coopers Shores, Mallwood, and Maple Beach are located in the town. The unincorporated communities of Koshkonong and Newville are also partially in the town.
Elmhurst is an unincorporated community in Langlade County, Wisconsin, United States. It is in the town of Rolling at latitude 45°3'30" North, longitude 89°11'3" West. The community is located near the headwaters of the Middle Branch Embarrass River, approximately 1½ miles west of the junction of WIS 47, WIS 52 and U.S. Highway 45 in the Town of Rolling. A track of the Chicago and North Western Railway runs along the west side of the community. Elmhurst is located at 1,476 feet (450 m) above sea level.
