This is a list of Malaysian films produced and released in 2001. Most of the film are produced in the Malay language, but there also a significant number of films that are produced in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien.

Monarch Books was an American publishing firm in the late 1950s/early 1960s which specialised in pulp novels. Some of these, like Jack the Ripper (1960), were movie tie-ins.
Ujwaadu is a 2011 Konkani film directed by Kasargod Chinna and produced by KJ Dhananjaya and Anuradha Padiyar as the third film ever produced in the GSB Konkani language and attempts to showcase Konkani Saraswatha tradition and culture.
Vedette (1854–1881) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2000 Guineas Stakes and two Doncaster Cups. He also sired Epsom Derby winner and Champion sire, Galopin. He was owned by Thomas Dundas, 2nd Earl of Zetland and trained by George Abdale.

K. P. Shashika Udari Perera, popularly known as Udari Perera, is a Sri Lankan film actress and model. In 2016, she won the title Mrs. Sri Lanka and subsequently participated in the Mrs. Universe pageant.
My Great Grandfather is a 2019 Malayalam-language family-drama film starring Jayaram, Surabhi Santosh, Baburaj, Divya Pillai and directed by Aneesh Anwar. The cinematography was handled by Sameer Haq and the film was bankrolled by Achicha Cinemas, which previously produced Kunchacko Boban-starrer Kuttanadan Marpappa.
