<i>Leftenan Adnan</i> 2000 film by Aziz M. Osman

Leftenan Adnan is a 2000 Malaysian Malay-language biographical war drama film directed by Aziz M. Osman and co-produced by both Grand Brilliance, Paradigmfilm, and the Malaysian Army. The film chronicles the actions of Adnan bin Saidi who had been involved as a Lieutenant of the Malay Regiment fending against the invasion of the Japanese army during the Second World War. A digitally-restored version of the film was released in 2020 as part of its 20th anniversary.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Filem Negara Malaysia</span>

The National Film Department of Malaysia, abbreviated FNM, sometimes Jabatan Filem Negara (JFN) or informally the Malaysian Film Unit; was a Malaysian state-owned film organization. It is the country's first film studio and the government department under the Malaysian Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, which was responsible for the filming and documentation of national events as well as producing factual and unscripted contents. In its heyday, FNM became the country's most prominent film agency. Its corporate emblem features a jumping Malayan tiger, which was synonymous with the agency and its headquarters were located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia, abbreviated FINAS, is the central government agency for the film industry of Malaysia. FINAS is similar to the Motion Picture Association of America in the United States. In 2013, the corporation was merged with Filem Negara Malaysia (FNM) to form a sole film agency.

The Film Censorship Board of Malaysia is a Malaysian government ministry that vets films. It is under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Astro Shaw Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian film studio that has produced films for the local and regional markets and is pursuing expansion into international film investments. It also provides a marketing and distribution services for theatrical and non-theatrical release in Malaysia and abroad.

Malaysia Film Festival is an accolade bestowed by the Malaysian Entertainment Journalists Association of Malaysia for the appreciation and honouring the products of film arts and artists. The formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies and the highlights for the film industry in Malaysia and is televised live on local television, annually. It is considered to be Malaysia's own equivalent to the Academy Awards and it is one of the major annual awards presented in Malaysia, alongside the Anugerah Bintang Popular for the entire entertainment industry and Anugerah Industri Muzik for the music industry.

Mohd Syamsul Mohd Yusof is a Malaysian actor, film director, writer, producer and singer. He is the son of producer and director Yusof Haslam. He is the youngest director to win the Malaysian Film Festival for Best Director award, doing so at the age of 25.

KL Gangster is a 2011 Malaysian Malay-language action thriller film written and directed by Syamsul Yusof,. The film stars Aaron Aziz, Adi Putra, Soffi Jikan and Zizan Razak. KL Gangster follows Malek (Aziz), a former gangster fresh out of prison, who wants to change his life.

<i>Men Who Save the World</i> 2014 film

Men Who Save the World is a 2014 Malaysian Malay-language comedy film written and directed by Liew Seng Tat. The film was nominated for multiple awards in international film festivals, and won several awards at the 27th Malaysian Film Festival, including Best Picture.

In 2015 she was the female lead for two hit Malaysian Tamil movies Vetti Pasanga & Vennira Iravugal. Vennira Iravugal became an acclaimed Malaysian Tamil movie after it was screened in several film festivals around Europe and won a special jury award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival in 2014, subsequently taking home all 5 awards in all categories at the Malaysian Kalai Ulagam Awards in 2015. She is amongst the top actresses in the Malaysian Film Industry.

<i>Jagat</i> (film) 2015 Malaysian film

Jagat is a 2015 Malaysian crime drama film. Set in the early 1990s, the story follows a mischievous 12-year-old boy named Appoy and his relationships with his father, Maniam, and his uncles, former drug-addict Bala and local gangster Dorai. The boy faces pressure from his father to focus on school, but he is drawn to his uncle's life of crime.

<i>Munafik</i> 2016 film directed by Syamsul Yusof

Munafik is a 2016 Malaysian Malay-language supernatural horror film directed by Syamsul Yusof. It was his ninth film as well as his second horror film after Khurafat (2011) and also the first film in a planned Munafik trilogy. It stars Syamsul himself, Fizz Fairuz, Pekin Ibrahim and Nabila Huda. The film depicts Adam, a Muslim medical practitioner who is unable to continue with his job and accept the reality of his wife's death. After he meets Maria, unsettling things start to happen.

Eddie Pak, Chinese: 白文光博士 is a Malaysian film director, producer and scriptwriter, whose career spans more than 38 years, filled with awards and accomplishments. Eddie's body of work addresses such themes as action, crime pursued by vengeance, drama, morality and beliefs.

<i>Vedigundu Pasangge</i> 2018 Malaysian film

Vedigundu Pasangge is a 2018 Malaysian Tamil language crime comedy film. It was the final instalment of Pasangge trilogy film series after Vilayaatu Pasange (2011), and Vetti Pasanga (2014). Vimala Perumal directed the movie with an ensemble cast including Sangeeta Krishnasamy, Denes Kumar, David Anthony, and Thangamani Velayuda. Music and background music were scored by composer duo Vivek–Mervin.

Vimala Perumal is a Malaysian filmmaker. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at Multimedia University, in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Her film Vedigundu Pasangge received national and international recognition.

<i>Mat Kilau</i> (film) 2022 Malaysian film

Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan is a 2022 Malaysian Malay-language biographical epic film that is inspired by historical events directed by Syamsul Yusof, starring Adi Putra as Mat Kilau bin Imam Rasu, a Malay warrior who fought the British colonialists during the Pahang Uprising in Pahang, British Malaya before independence. The film features Beto Kusyairy, Fattah Amin, Yayan Ruhian, Geoff Andre Feyaerts and Johan As'ari in supporting roles.
