The Special Region of Yogyakarta is a provincial-level autonomous region of Indonesia in southern Java. It is a semi-enclave that is surrounded by Central Java to the west, north, and east except for a long coastline of the Indian Ocean to the south.
Kulon Progo Regency is one of the four regencies within the Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Java. Bantul is a regency located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Java. The district (kapanewon) covers an area of 21.95 km2 (8.47 sq mi) and had a population of 64,360 at the 2020 Census. It is a bustling town about 10 km (6.2 mi) to the south of Yogyakarta, easily reached by regular minibuses from the main Yogyakarta bus station. Bantul has numerous firms and agencies which supply services to the surrounding area. Yogyakarta International Airport is an international airport located at Temon district of Kulon Progo Regency, in Java, Indonesia. The airport is situated around 45 kilometers from the city of Yogyakarta, which serves the Yogyakarta Special Region, as well as nearby Central Javan cities such as Purworejo, Kebumen, Cilacap and Magelang. It is the largest and one of the three airports in the Yogyakarta Special Region, the other being Adisutjipto Airport which is located closer to the Yogyakarta city center and Gading Airfield in Wonosari, Gunung Kidul Regency. The airport serves flights to and from several cities and towns in Indonesia and some international destinations such as Malaysia and Singapore.
ICBRR stands for Integrated Community Based Risk Reduction Program. It is a program currently being implemented in Indonesia, funded by the International Federation Red Cross (IFRC) and in cooperation with the Danish Red Cross (DRC) and Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI). It is being conducted in 11 branches in Central Java and Yogyakarta. Six branches in Central Java are Klaten, Magelang, Boyolali, Temanggung, Purowrejo and Karanganyar. 5 branches in Yogyakarta consist of Kota Yogyakarta, Bantul, Sleman, Gunung Kidul and Kulon Progo.
KODAM IV/Diponegoro or IV Military Regional Command/Diponegoro is a military area command of the Indonesian Army. It covers the provinces of Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta on the island of Java. It is named after the Java War hero Prince Diponegoro. It appears to have been first established in 1950, and inherited the heritage of the former 3rd Diponegoro Division and other Central Java infantry units. Diponegoro Division personnel have been very significant in the history of the Indonesian Army. Among its early officers were Sarwo Edhie Wibowo, who served as battalion and regimental commander in the division from 1945-53. Former commanders of the division include Soeharto, a former president of Indonesia. Divisional personnel, including Lieutenant Colonel Untung Syamsuri, were involved in the 30 September Movement events of 1965. Former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was also member of this KODAM when he took command of KOREM 072/Pamungkas at Yogyakarta during his military tenure.

The Solo–Yogyakarta–YIA Kulonprogo toll road or Joglo toll road is a toll road under construction in Indonesia that connects Surakarta urban area in Central Java with Yogyakarta urban area in Special Region of Yogyakarta. The toll road is part of the Trans-Java Toll Road. Construction of this toll road has begun in 2020 from the direction of Solo. Despite its name, the toll road terminus will not located within Surakarta and Yogyakarta, but in nearby Boyolali Regency and Sleman Regency.
