Abergwili is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, near the confluence of the rivers Towy and Gwili, close to the town of Carmarthen. It is also an electoral ward. Named after the village of Abergwili, the community includes the settlements of Peniel, Llanfihangel-uwch-Gwili and White Mill. The grounds of the former Bishop's Palace are listed on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

The present cathedral, which was begun in 1181, stands on the site of a monastery founded in the 6th century by Saint David.

It is not to be confused with Pumsaint, a small village some distance away on the River Cothi. The population increased in 2011 to 734, and thus the percentage of Welsh speakers declined.

Llanfihangel Aberbythych is a community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The population recorded at the 2011 census was 1,344. It is bordered by Llangathen, Llandeilo, Dyffryn Cennen, Llandybie, Gorslas and Llanarthney, all of which are in Carmarthenshire. There is no village of Llanfihangel Aberbythych – the name is taken from St Michael's Church, which dates from 1849, at Golden Grove, about 3 miles (5 km) south-west of Llandeilo. It now belongs to the Church in Wales parish of Catheiniog. Villages include Carmel and Maesybont.

The name 'Lledrod' is a contraction of Llanfihangel-Lledrod, which derives from Llanfihangel Llether-troed, meaning 'the church of St Michael at the foot of the slope'. Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa was a parish within the former historic county of Montgomeryshire. It now forms a major part of the community of Llanfihangel in Powys, which covers an area of 5,366 hectares (20.72 sq mi). Its Community Council extends to take in Dolanog and Llwydiarth, having approximately 413 registered voters. The parish originally consisted of the following townships: Cefncleisiog, Cydwnfa, Dolwar, Fachwen, Farchwell, Fynnonarthwr, Garthucha, Halfen, Llaethbwlch, Llwydiarth, Nanty-Candy, and Rhiewlas. Dolanog seceded from Llanfihangel in 1856.
