The Loop line of Chongqing Rail Transit is a rapid transit loop line in Chongqing, China.^[1] The line is also known as Line 0.

The metro line serves three major railway stations in Chongqing: Chongqing North railway station, Shapingba railway station, and Chongqing West railway station.^[2]

History

The line began construction on October 28, 2013.^[3]

The northeastern section was opened on December 28, 2018. The southern section with the Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge opened on December 30, 2019.^[4] The remaining section opened on January 20, 2021.

Accident

On January 8, 2019, a train accident occurred in the tunnel between Haixialu and Nanhu where a train (000141-000146) struck an unsecured and improperly opened civil defense blast door. As a result, one person was killed and three people were injured. ^[9]This set has been out of service ever since the incident and every car stored in CRRC Chongqing Changchun Vehicle separately.

The Chongqing Rail Transit is the rapid transit system in the city of Chongqing, China. In operation since 2005, it serves the transportation needs of the city's main business and entertainment downtown areas and inner suburbs. Line 1 of CRT runs westwards from Chaotianmen to Bishan. Line 1 began operation on 28 July 2011.

CRT Line 6 is the second heavy rail subway line in Chongqing, as well as being the longest rapid transit line in China, at 85.6 km (53.19 mi) long. It opened with provisional revenue service on September 28, 2012, and connects Nan'an, Yuzhong, and Jiangbei districts in central Chongqing.

Line 17 of the Beijing Subway is a rapid transit line that is partially in operation in Beijing. The line is fully underground and has a total length of 49.7 km (30.9 mi). Chongqing North Station North Square is an interchange station on Line 4 and Line 10 of Chongqing Rail Transit. Located in Chongqing's Yubei District, it serves the nearby Chongqing North railway station.

The Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge is a suspension bridge carrying the Chongqing Rail Transit Loop line across the Yangtze. It connects Jiulongpo District in the west with Nan'an District in the east. The Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge is located about 70 meters upstream of the old Egongyan Bridge which carries only road traffic. The overall bridge is 1,650.5 metres (5,415 ft) long, with a 600 metres (2,000 ft) main span, making it the longest cable supported transit only bridge in the world by main span.

Bishan is a station on Line 1 of Chongqing Rail Transit in Shuanglong Avenue, Bicheng Subdistrict, Bishan District, Chongqing Municipality, China. The station opened on December 30, 2019. It is CRT's first station to be built outside of the Metropolitan Area of Chongqing.

Shangxinjie Station is an interchange station on Line 6 and Loop Line of Chongqing Rail Transit in Chongqing municipality, China, which is located in Nan'an District. It opened in 2014.

Olympic Sports Center Station is a station on the Loop line and Line 18 of Chongqing Rail Transit in Chongqing municipality, China. It is located in Jiulongpo District and opened in 2019.

Central Park West Station is a station on Line 5 and Line 10 of Chongqing Rail Transit in Chongqing municipality, China. It is located in Yubei District and opened in 2017.
