MMA Junkie is a news website that covers the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). It was founded in 2006, and has been owned by Gannett Company since 2011. [1] The site and its content have been featured in Time magazine, ESPN The Magazine , [2] The New York Times , [3] Fox Sports Net's The Best Damn Sports Show Period , Fox Report , Inside MMA, ESPN's MMA Live, Yahoo! [4] and other media outlets.

A variety of guest columnists and bloggers have been featured such as Ryan Bader ( The Ultimate Fighter 8 ), [5] C.B. Dollaway ( The Ultimate Fighter 7 ) [6] and Brendan Schaub ( The Ultimate Fighter 10 ). [7]

Radio show

MMA Junkie Radio is a weekly Internet radio show broadcast from Las Vegas, Nevada. [8] MMAjunkie Radio resulted from the acquisition and re-branding of TAGG Radio (Trigg And Gorgeous George), which launched in 2007 and formed a content partnership with MMAjunkie in 2008. The live Internet radio show and podcast was renamed MMA Junkie Radio in early 2009. The show is hosted by "Gorgeous" George Garcia, Brian "Goze" Garcia and MMAjunkie lead staff reporter John Morgan, the show broadcasts Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and evening "Primetime" specials. Although once produced from a home studio, the show moved in 2009 to its new studio at the Race & Sports Book inside The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. [9]

The two-hour show is a guest-driven program that features some of the most prominent fighters, trainers, promoters and officials in the sport. Additionally, Morgan and other members of the MMA Junkie editorial team frequently discuss and break the latest MMA news on the program.[ citation needed ]

The Ultimate Fighter is an American reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Pilgrim Media Group currently airing on ESPN+. It previously aired for fourteen seasons on Spike TV. The show features professional MMA fighters living together in Las Vegas, Nevada, and follows them as they train and compete against each other for a prized six-figure contract with the UFC. The series debuted on January 17, 2004, with its first episode, "The Quest Begins". To date, there have been thirty one seasons of the show, two per calendar year, some years having only one season. Each season features either one or two weight classes in the tournament.

Gerald Harris is an American retired mixed martial artist who most recently fought in Bellator. He was a cast member of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter 7 and has also competed in World Series of Fighting, the UFC, DREAM, the Portland Wolfpack in the IFL, Shark Fights, Tachi Palace Fights, and Legacy Fighting Championship.

C. B. Dollaway is an American mixed martial artist currently fighting in the Light Heavyweight division. A professional since 2006, he formerly fought in the UFC and was a finalist on SpikeTV's The Ultimate Fighter 7.

He is also the former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion, and the winner of the 2018 Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tournament. At Bellator 214, Bader became the first fighter in Bellator history to become champion in two weight divisions simultaneously. Brendan Peter Schaub is an American podcast host, former professional mixed martial artist, and stand-up comedian. He is the host of The Fighter and the Kid podcast, the Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub podcast, and co-host of the Golden Hour podcast, along with fellow comedians Chris D'Elia and Erik Griffin. After signing with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2009 to compete on The Ultimate Fighter, he fought for the company until 2014. He officially retired from mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2015. Since 2015, Schaub has been performing stand-up comedy, initially as a duo act with comedian Bryan Callen, but more recently as a solo comedian. Schaub released his debut comedy special titled You'd Be Surprised in 2019 followed by his second special, The Gringo Papi in 2022.
