The Malabon Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden, commonly known as Malabon Zoo, is a zoo situated in Malabon, Metro Manila, Philippines. [1]
The Malabon Zoo first opened around 1989 and was founded by the Manny Tangco in Barangay Potrero in Malabon, Metro Manila. In March 2020, community quarantine measures imposed as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the zoo to the public and caused financial strain to the zoo's maintenance. This led Tangco launching an appeal for donations so he could still feed the zoo's animals, which was responded by various private and public personalities. Malabon Zoo has developed a reputation for naming its individual animals after public figures including former and current politicians, actors and actresses, and other celebrities. [1] [2] Among the animals kept in captivity include Bengal tigers, lions, bears, deer, orangutans, and snakes. [5] [6] [7]

The World Tonight is a Philippine television English-language late-night newscast broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and ANC. He entered politics in 1998 and ran for councilor and was elected for three consecutive terms as a member of the Manila City Council. On 2007, he was elected Vice Mayor of Manila, he was re-elected in 2010 as Mayor Alfredo Lim's running mate and switched sides on his third and last term as former President Joseph Estrada's running mate on the latter's 2013 mayoral bid. He was term-limited as Vice Mayor and ran for Senator unsuccessfully in the 2016 elections. He then served in the Duterte cabinet as Social Welfare undersecretary for a few months in 2018 before running and being elected Mayor of Manila in a landslide victory against his former allies, Joseph Estrada and Alfredo Lim in the 2019 local elections.
