Miss Russia 2016 the 24th edition of the Miss Russia pageant, was held in concert hall Barvikha Luxury Village in Moscow on 16 April 2016. Fifty contestants from around Russia competed for the crown.[ citation needed ] Sofia Nikitchuk of Yekaterinburg crowned her successor, Yana Dobrovolskaya of Tyumen at the end of the event. The winner represented Russia at Miss World 2016 while the 1st Runner-Up competed at Miss Universe 2016 pageants.[ citation needed ]

Miss Universe is an annual international major beauty pageant that is run by a United States and Thailand-based Miss Universe Organization. Along with Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth, Miss Universe is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
Miss Puerto Rico is a national beauty pageant in Puerto Rico. Currently, there are two separate televised pageants held annually: Miss Universe Puerto Rico to select the representative for Miss Universe and Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico to select the representative for Miss World. Additionally, the Miss Puerto Rico Scholarship Organization has selected the representative for Miss America in past years.
Miss India or Femina Miss India is a national beauty pageant in India that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss World, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants. Miss World 2000, was the 50th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, held at the Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom on 30 November 2000. Portions of the pageant were also filmed in the Maldives.
The Miss Nederland is a national Beauty pageant in the Netherlands. The pageant was founded in 1929 in Amsterdam, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe.
The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2023 edition, Miss Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe and the Señorita Panamá winners represent Panama in Miss International. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. In 1982, Señorita Panamá was created by RPC Channel 4 as an alternative to send its winners to the Miss World contest in London. These pageants, along with smaller pageants such as Miss International Panamá and Miss World Panamá celebrated to select delegates for international representations.
The Miss Universe Malaysia is an annual national beauty pageant and an organization that selects Malaysia's representative to the annual Miss Universe contest. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify, a runner-up is sent.

Veneta Krasimirova Krasteva is a Bulgarian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Bulgaria 2013 and Miss World Bulgaria 2015 and the president of the Miss World Bulgaria Organization. She represented Bulgaria at Miss Universe 2013 and Miss World 2015 and had the distinction of being the first and only Bulgarian to represent Bulgaria at two of the largest and oldest international pageants in the world Miss World and Miss Universe. Veneta is currently the president of the Miss World, Mr. World and Miss Universe Bulgaria Organization.

Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on 30 January 2017. Yana Dobrovolskaya of Tyumen crowned her successor Polina Popova of Sverdlovsk Oblast at the end of the event. The pageant was hosted by Miss Russia 2003 Victoria Lopyreva and Maxim Privalov, and featured guest performances from Elka, Stas Piekha, Nyusha, Ani Lorak, and Dmitry Malikov.
Yuliana Korolkova is a Russian model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was first runner-up at the Miss Russia 2016 pageant and later represented Russia at the Miss Universe 2016.
