Miss United States 1961, also referred to as Miss World USA 1961, was the 4th edition of the Miss United States World pageant. It was held at Carnegie Hall in New York City, New York, and was won by Jo Ann Odum of West Virginia. Odum was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Judith Ann Achter of Missouri. Odum went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1961 Pageant in London later that year. She finished in the Top 7 at Miss World. [1] [2]

Miss USA 1965 was the 14th Miss USA pageant, held in Miami Beach, Florida on June 4, 1965. This was the first Miss USA pageant to be televised live, and the first to be a self-contained production, held several weeks before, and independent of, the Miss Universe pageant.

Miss USA 1961 was the 10th Miss USA pageant, held in Miami Beach, Florida on July 13, 1961. The pageant was won by Sharon Brown of Louisiana, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Linda Bement of Utah. Brown's win gave Louisiana a second title in four years, marking the first time a state had won two Miss USA titles outright. Two days after her victory, Brown went on to place as 4th runner-up at Miss Universe 1961.

Miss USA 1959 was the 8th Miss USA pageant, held in Long Beach, California on July 22, 1959. The pageant was won by Terry Huntingdon of California, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Arlene Howell of Louisiana. Huntingdon was the first woman from California to win the Miss USA title, and the first to win in her home state. Two days after her victory, Huntingdon went on to place as 2nd runner-up at Miss Universe 1959.

Miss USA 1963 was the 12th Miss USA pageant, held in Miami Beach, Florida on July 17, 1963. The pageant was won by Marite Ozers of Illinois, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Macel Leilani Wilson of Hawaii. Latvian-born Ozers was the first woman born outside the U.S. to take the Miss USA title, and the second delegate from Illinois to do so. Ozers went on to finish as a Top 15 semi-finalist at Miss Universe 1963. This was the first Miss USA to be broadcast on television, first aired on CBS that would be remained in the next 39 years.

Miss USA 1958 was the 7th Miss USA pageant, held in Long Beach, California on July 23, 1958. The pageant was won by Eurlyne Howell of Louisiana, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Charlotte Sheffield of Utah. Howell went on to finish as 3rd runner-up to Luz Marina Zuluaga of Colombia at Miss Universe 1958. The 1958 pageant was the last to include a city delegate in the line-up.

Miss USA 1962 was the 11th Miss USA pageant, held in Miami, Florida, on July 12, 1962. The pageant was won by Macel Leilani Wilson of Hawaii, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Sharon Brown of Louisiana. Wilson's win gave Hawaii the Miss USA crown at its first attempt, and two days later she was a Top 15 semi-finalist at Miss Universe 1962. Eleven states did not send a delegate to the 1962 pageant, resulting in the lowest number of contestants since the inaugural pageant of 1952. Macel is the first Asian-American to win the title of Miss USA.

Miss World USA 1976 was the 15th edition of the Miss World USA pageant and it was held in Boston, Massachusetts and was won by Kimberly Marre Foley of Michigan. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Annelise Ilschenko of Ohio. Miller went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1976 Pageant in London later that year. She did not place at Miss World.

Miss World USA 1974 was the 13th edition of the Miss World USA pageant and it was held in Binghamton, New York and was won by Terry Ann Browning of Florida. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Lexie H. Brockway of Washington. Browning went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1974 Pageant in London later that year. She finished as 4th Runner-Up at Miss World.

Miss World USA 1971 was the 10th edition of the Miss World USA pageant and it was held in the Hampton Roads Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia and was won by Karen Brucene Smith of Texas. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Sandra Wolsfeld of Illinois. Smith went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1971 Pageant in London later that year. She finished as 5th Runner-Up at Miss World. She later won Miss American Beauty 1974 and competed in and later won Miss International 1974.

Miss World USA 1970 was the 9th edition of the Miss World USA pageant and it was held in Kings Castle in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and was won by Sandra Wolsfeld of Illinois. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Connie Lee Haggard of Texas. Wolsfeld went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1970 Pageant in London later that year. She finished in the Top 15 at Miss World.

Miss World USA 1968 was the 7th edition of the Miss World USA pageant and it was held in San Diego, California and was won by Johnine Leigh Avery of Washington. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Pamela Valari Pall of California. Avery went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 1968 Pageant in London later that year. She did not place at Miss World.

She finished in the Top 16 at Miss World.

She finished in the Top 8 at Miss World.
