Mominpur Metro Station is a planned station of the Kolkata Metro in Mominpur, Kolkata, India. The underground station is located beneath Diamond harbour road in Mominpur. It will be a station of Kolkata Metro Line 3. [1] This station will be built in the second phase of the construction of the Kolkata Metro Line 3. There will be two platforms at this station.

Station layout

It is an elevated metro station with two side platforms. It is being implemented by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The station will be 180 m (590 ft)180 m long with twelve spans. The platform and concourse area will be 3,100 m2 (33,000 sq ft) and 980 m2 (10,500 sq ft) respectively. It will be catered by five escalators, two elevators and four staircases. [2]

The Kolkata Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Kolkata and the wider Kolkata Metropolitan Region in West Bengal, India. It is the first operational rapid transit system in India, and the second busiest metro network in India. As of January 2023 it has three operational lines: a 31.36 km (19.49 mi) line from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash, a 9.1 km (5.7 mi) line from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah, and a 6.5 km (4.0 mi) line from Joka to Taratala, for a total of 47.85 km (29.73 mi). Three other lines are in various phases of construction. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge tracks. Trains operate between 06:55 and 22:30 IST and the fares range from ₹5 to ₹25.

The Line 1, Blue Line, also known as North–South Metro of the Kolkata Metro, is a rapid transit system serving Kolkata in Indian state of West Bengal. It consists of 26 operational stations from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash, of which 9 are elevated, 2 are at grade and the remaining 15 are underground with a total distance of 31.3 km (19.4 mi). The line connects Dakshineswar and New Garia and uses 5 ft 6 in5 ft 6 in broad gauge rolling stock. Dakshineswar was opened on 22 February 2021 is an elevated station located 4.1 km (2.5 mi) north of Noapara. It was the first underground railway to be built in India, with the first operations commencing in October 1984 and the full stretch that was initially planned being operational by February 1995. On 28 December 2010, it became the 17th zone of the Indian Railways. Being the country's first, and a completely indigenous process, the construction of the Kolkata Metro was more of a trial-and-error affair, in contrast to the Delhi Metro, which has seen the involvement of numerous international consultants. As a result, it took nearly 23 years to completely construct around 15 km (9.3 mi) underground railway from Birpara up to Tollygunge Metro Station.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kolkata Metro Line 2</span> Transit line in Kolkata, India

Kolkata Metro Line 2, also known as the East-West Metro and Green Line, is a rapid transit line of the Kolkata Metro in the Indian state of West Bengal. It currently consists of an operational section between Salt Lake and Sealdah, and will eventually connect Howrah by going underneath the Hooghly River, with an eastern extension also planned for Teghoria. It would consist of 17 stations from Teghoria (Haldiram) in the east to Howrah Maidan in the west, of which 11 would be elevated and 6 would be underground, with a total distance of 22 km (14 mi). It is expected to derive a very high ridership since it will connect India's two largest commuter railway and long-distance railway terminals (Howrah and along with two of its largest business districts. It will also be connecting the industrial hub of Kolkata i.e. Howrah and the IT hub of Kolkata i.e. Sector 5. Line 2 has India's biggest underwater metro tunnel along with the deepest metro shaft. In the deepest metro shaft, Howrah metro station will be the deepest metro station in India, which will be 33 meters deep. The first phase between Salt Lake Sector V and Salt Lake Stadium was inaugurated by Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on 13 February 2020 and commercial services started from 14 February 2020.

Thirumayilai MRTS station or just Mylapore MRTS station is a railway station on the Chennai MRTS line. It was started in 1997 which marked the completion of Phase I of the Chennai MRTS project. The station is located on the bank of Buckingham Canal, accessible from Ramakrishna Mutt road near Luz Corner. The Station building also comprises the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) office and Southern Railway's Computerized Ticket Reservation Centre. The Station building consists of 1050 sq.m of parking area in its basement.

Kolkata Metro Line 3 or the Purple Line is a line of the Kolkata Metro. The 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) stretch from Joka to Taratala of the 15.08 kilometres (9.37 mi) line was inaugurated on 30 December 2022. The route spans 15.08 kilometres (9.37 mi) from Joka in the south, to Esplanade in the north with an extension of 3.39 kilometres (2.11 mi) to Diamond Park from Joka. It will connect Kolkata Metro Line 1 at Park Street in central Kolkata and run in parallel up to Esplanade in central Kolkata where it will connect Kolkata Metro Line 2 also. Line 3 is being built by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited.

The Kolkata Metro Line 4 or the Yellow Line, also known as the Noapara - Barasat Line of the Kolkata Metro in India is a 16.876 km (10.486 mi) long metro route from Noapara to Barasat in North 24 Parganas, which is under construction. It is being built by RVNL, Senbo & ITD. It will run mostly underground viaducts. It will run elevated until Jessore Road Station and then it goes underground towards Barasat metro station. It will have an interchange station at the NSCBI Airport with Kolkata Metro Line 6.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kolkata Metro Line 6</span> Transit line in Kolkata, India

Kolkata Metro Line 6 or the Orange Line of the Kolkata Metro is an under-construction rapid transit line that will connect New Garia with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport via two satellite towns Salt Lake and New Town. The line is targeted to open from Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay in 2023 but it is delayed indefinitely for now. This stretch will be one of the most important stretches of the metro because it will connect the southern and the eastern parts of the city with Kolkata Airport. Total distance of this route will be 29.87 km (18.56 mi).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Majerhat metro station</span> Metro station in Kolkata, India

Majerhat metro station is an under construction metro station on Line 3 of Kolkata Metro. It is the terminal station of the first phase 1 of this line, from Joka to Majerhat. The line was sanctioned in India's railway budget of 2010–11, but due to various hurdles, construction was delayed and missed multiple deadlines. The most notable reason for delays was the Majerhat Bridge collapse in 2018.
