The Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Richmond, in Madison County, Kentucky is a historic church. It was built in c.1849 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. [1]
It was deemed significant "as an example of how Madison County builders used some of the elements of the Gothic Revival style such as the steeplypitched roof and double-lancet windows to ornament a rural church building." [2]

Notable buildings include the Mansion House (1796), The Church of Christ in Christian Union (1840), Odd Fellows Hall, The Presbyterian Church (1926), Christ Episcopal Church (1869-1873), "Hooff's Opera House" (1905), Pioneer Cemetery, U.S. Post Office Building (1913), and the Poffenbarger House. The Point Pleasant Battleground is located in the district and listed separately on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mt. Vernon Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church in Maces Spring, Virginia, United States. It was built about 1895 and is a one-story, rectangular frame structure with gable roof and simple wooden steeple. The church is most notable for its association with the Carter Family, a traditional American Country music group that recorded between 1927 and 1956. Behind the church is the cemetery containing the graves of Alvin Pleasant "A.P." Delaney Carter (1891–1960) and his wife Sara Dougherty Carter (1898–1979).
