Umvukwesi, originally known as Umvukwesi, is a town in Mashonaland Central province in Zimbabwe.

Some of Mvurwi's schools include Holy Rosary Primary and Secondary School, Mvurwi Primary and High School and Umvukwesi Primary School which is one of the town's most elite learning facilities and produces noteworthy results.

Previously, it fell within the breadbasket region (from Banket - Shamva) where much of foodstuffs and the golden leaf[ clarification needed ] were being produced. Majority of Mvurwians are small scale farmers who rely on the agro-based economy. The industry sector has to be improved in future, currently it has got Delta Beverage brewing company and Mashonaland Tobacco Sales to mention a few.

Chiote/ Pembi Falls and Galiva are dams surrounding the borders of the town. It is still developing in terms of infrastructure. It has other government offices such as R.G and major referral hospitals.

When it was accorded town status in 2007: as from that was headed by Mayor-Councilor Vincent Murengwa of the ruling party ZANU PF.

Mvurwi is a place which is primarily surrounded by farms and is conducive for farming. it is essential in the food production of the country.

Vanad is a village in the province of Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe. It is located about 12 km north of Mutorashanga in the Mvurwi Range. The village started as a residential settlement for the Vanad chromite mine. According to the 1982 Population Census, the village had a population of 2,565. In the 1980s it was established for the workers on a nearby mine, which collapsed a few years later after a large volume of water killed a huge number of workers. The mine has since become a huge tourist attraction due to the waters which remain visible and is famously known as the Green Pool; it attracts at least 1,000 people every year from around Zimbabwe and the world.

Border Gezi was a Zimbabwean politician. He was a close ally of Robert Mugabe within ZANU-PF and served as Minister for Gender, Youth and Employment from 2000 having previously been a provincial governor.

Zhombe, originally known as Jombe, is a rural communal area in Kwekwe District, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. It is an area of mixed Shona and Northern Ndebele People. It lies along the Mnyathi border line between Midlands and Mashonaland Provinces. There are a few commercial farms within its borders and a handful of resettlement areas. Most of it is within the Zhombe Constituency. Its administrative centre is the Zhombe Joel Growth Point, and it is under the Zibagwe Rural District Council.

Aeneas Soko Chigwedere was a Zimbabwean politician, historian, educationist, and traditional leader. He served as the Minister of Education, Sports, & Culture since August 2001, and was appointed the Resident Minister and Governor of Mashonaland East Province in August 2008. He was installed as Headman Svosve Mubayiwa on 10 March 2008. On 22 January 2021, he died at his farm near Marondera following COVID-19 related complications during the COVID-19 pandemic in Zimbabwe.
