Namakkal City Municipal Corporation [1] is the civic body governing city of Namakkal in Tamil Nadu state of India. It is one of the 25 Municipal corporation in Tamil Nadu, and was established on 15 March 2024. It will be headed by a mayor, who presides over a deputy mayor and will be administrated by City Commissioner.
Namakkal was constituted as a municipality and was upgraded to a Grade II Municipality in 1973, to Selection Grade in 1988, to a special grade in 2013, and City Corporation in 2024. [2] The functions of the city corporation are divided into six departments: general administration/personnel, Engineering, Revenue, Public Health, city planning and Information Technology (IT). [3]
On 15 March 2024, Namakkal Municipality was upgraded to Municipal Corporation by Chief minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin [4] and became one of the 25 municipal corporations in Tamil Nadu. It was the first corporation to be made in the Namakkal District.

Hosur City Municipal Corporation is the civic body governing city of industrial hub Hosur in Tamilnadu state of India. It was the 13th Municipal corporation in Tamilnadu established on 13 February 2019. Pudukottai is the headquarters of the Pudukkottai district. The city was constituted as a third-grade municipality in 1912, promoted to first-grade during 1963, and selection-grade from 1998. The Pudukottai municipal corporation has 42 wards and there is an elected councillor for each of those wards.[22] The functions of the municipality are devolved into six departments: general administration/personnel, Engineering, Revenue, Public Health, city planning and Information Technology (IT). All these departments are under the control of a Municipal Commissioner who is the executive head.[23] The legislative powers are vested in a body of 42 members, one each from the 42 wards.[24] The legislative body is headed by an elected chairperson assisted by a deputy chairperson. On March 15 2024, the Tamil Nadu Government announced Pudukkottai as a New City Corporation by agglomerating 12 nearby village panchayats. This new city will be administered by a city Mayor.

It was the 22nd Municipal corporation in Tamil Nadu, and was established on 15 March 2024. It will be headed by a mayor, who presides over a deputy mayor and will be administrated by City Commissioner. Newly formed Karaikudi Urban Agglomeration area has adjoined with surrounding parts like Sankarapuram census town, Kottaiyur town panchayat, Kandanur town panchayat, Puduvayal town panchayat and village panchayats that includes Koviloor, Ariyakudi, Amaravathiputhur, Iluppaikkudi and Managiri. The annual tax revenue of the corporation is expected to be about 57.25 crore rupees. Karaikudi is one of the major educational cities and tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu and had a population of 303,291 and area of 94.31 km² as in 2023.
Tiruvannamalai is the headquarters of the Tiruvannamalai district. The Tiruvannamalai municipality was established in 1886 during British times. It was promoted to a second-grade municipal municipality in 1959, first grade in 1974, selection grade in 1998 and special grade in 2008 and Municipal Corporation on March 15, 2024. Tiruvannamalai has been declared a New City Corporation by agglomerating 18 nearby village panchayats. This new city will be administered by a city Mayor as announced by government of Tamil Nadu.
