The Nursery Site, RI-273 is a prehistoric archaeological site in Westerly, Rhode Island. Located near the Westerly Airport, this site has yielded evidence of Woodland Period stone tool work. [2]

Westerly is a town on the southwestern shoreline of Washington County, Rhode Island, first settled by English colonists in 1661 and incorporated as a municipality in 1669. It is a beachfront community on the south shore of the state with a population of 22,787 as of the 2010 census.

The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. [1]

The Main Street Historic District of Westerly, Rhode Island, encompasses a predominantly residential section of Main Street and adjoining Maple Avenue and School Street. The district includes nineteen houses, which are predominantly Greek Revival, Italianate, and Second Empire in style, as well as the Pawcatuck Seventh Day Baptist Church, a Greek Revival structure built 1847-48.

Westerly Downtown Historic District

The Westerly Downtown Historic District is a historic district encompassing most of the commercial and civic district of Westerly, Rhode Island, United States. It extends from Broad and Union Streets eastward along High Street, and north along Canal Street to Railroad Avenue, where it extends to include the historic railroad station. The district contains a compact and cohesive collection of commercial and civic buildings built primarily during the last three decades of the 19th century and the first three decades of the 20th century, including the Old Town Hall (1872–74), the current Town Hall (1912), the Spanish Colonial railroad station (1912), and the Greek Revival post office (1914).

Collyer Monument

Collyer Monument is an historic monument to firefighters in Mineral Spring Park, at the corner of Mineral Spring Avenue and Main Street, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, United States. The monument was built in 1890 by the sculptor Charles Parker Dowler to honor Samuel Smith Collyer, a fallen Pawtucket Fire Chief. The life-size bronze sculpture stands atop a pedestal of Westerly granite which contains a bronze plaque showing the fatal accident and the reverse bears the inscription. The Collyer Monument represents a significant example of monumental work of the period and an early example of local civic pride. The monument was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

North End Historic District (Westerly, Rhode Island)

The North End Historic District is a predominantly residential historic district in northwestern Westerly, Rhode Island. The area traces the industrial development of Westerly, with proximity to both its central business district as well as water-based textile mills, and stone quarries further inland. Most of the district's architecture was built between 1832 and 1955. The district is bounded on the east by High Street; on the south by properties on Friendship, West, Pleasant Streets, Marriott Avenue and Industrial Drive; on the west by properties on Pleasant, Canal, Pierce and Pond Streets; and on the north by properties on Pond, Pierce, Pearl, and High Streets, and Turano Avenue.

Hale House (South Kingstown, Rhode Island)

The Edward Everett Hale House is a historic house at 2625A Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry Highway in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It was commissioned in 1873 by businessman and historian William B. Weeden and designed by architects C. Maxson & Company of Westerly. William Weeden build the house for Edward Everett Hale as a summer home for Hale and his family of artists for several decades from the 1870s to the 1910s. The house and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Ram Point

Ram Point is a historic summer estate property at 77 Watch Hill Road in Westerly, Rhode Island. It is located at the head of an eponymous geographic features, which projects into the Pawcatuck River between downtown Westerly and the Watch Hill area. The property includes a suite of buildings, the principal one being a large two story Colonial Revival wood frame building. The house was built c. 1903 for Dr. John Whitridge Williams to a design most likely by Douglas Thomas, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland. The property is believed to be one of only two Rhode Island works by Thomas; the other, also designed for a member of the Williams family, is located across Babcock Cove from Ram Point.
