The Old Jefferson Parish Courthouse is a historic three-story building in Gretna, Louisiana. It was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by architect R.S. Soule, and built in 1907. [2] It was the parish courthouse until 1956. [2] It is now the Gretna city hall. [2] It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since January 21, 1983. [1]

Carrollton is a historic neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, which includes the Carrollton Historic District, recognized by the Historic District Landmark Commission. Southern Pacific 745 is a preserved Mikado-type steam locomotive that was fabricated at the Southern Pacific Railroad's Algiers Shops at Algiers Point directly across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. With a 2-8-2 wheel configuration, 745 was built as a freight engine for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. The locomotive returned to service in 2004 after a restoration period and is now housed on a short spur line in suburban Jefferson Parish. It is currently the only operating steam locomotive in Louisiana.
Beauregard Parish Jail is a former jailhouse in DeRidder, Louisiana built in 1914 in the Gothic Revival architecture style. It is referred to as the Gothic jail or the Hanging jail. The jail is owned by the Beauregard Parish Police Jury. The Beauregard Parish Rehabilitation Committee serves under the direction of the Police Jury with the primary duty of the preserving the jail. The Beauregard Tourist Commission has a vested interest in the jail and other historic sites and has been involved in many aspects of securing a continued future of the jail.
