The Old Post Office (NRHP-listed as Watertown Post Office) is a historic building located at 26 South Broadway in Watertown, South Dakota.

Watertown is a city in and the county seat of Codington County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 21,482 at the 2010 census. It is the fifth largest city in South Dakota. It is also the principal city of the Watertown Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Codington and Hamlin counties.

The Watertown Post Office was built in 1908 and served until 1976[ citation needed ]. From 1976 to 2009, it was known as Old Post Office Square, and housed several tenants. From 2009 to 2014 it was home to KXLG in Watertown. [2] It is currently the law office of Nancy Turbak Berry. [3]

KXLG

KXLG is a radio station serving the Watertown, South Dakota area. The station is owned by TMRG Broadcasting, LLC. It airs soft adult contemporary music to fill time between local business advertising features. The advertising features often include live on-site broadcasts or telephone "interviews" with local business operators.

Nancy J. Turbak Berry is a former Democratic member of the South Dakota Senate, representing the 5th district from 2006 to 2010.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The district includes three contributing buildings; the courthouse building (1862), Clerk's Office (1883–1884) and Surrogate's Office (1905). The courthouse building is a two-story, red brick structure with limestone trim. It features a three-story tower on the northwest corner. It was designed by architect Horatio Nelson White.

It was built in 1937 and designed by consulting architects Schultze and Weaver for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a symmetrically massed red brick building containing limestone trim in the Classical Revival style. It is composed of a two-story central section with flanking one story wings. The front facade features a three-bay recessed limestone portico supported by a pair of tall slender Doric order columns. Kingfisher Post Office

The Kingfisher Post Office, also known as The Old Post Office, is the historic former post office in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. The post office was built by the Dieter & Wenzil Co. of St. Louis, Missouri; work on the building began on October 1, 1912, and finished on September 1, 1913. The stucco building has a red-tile hipped roof and cornices on each side. The post office operated until a larger post office opened in 1976.

Decker House Hotel

The Decker House Hotel is a historic building located in Maquoketa, Iowa, United States. James Decker, an entrepreneur from Watertown, New York held numerous real estate holdings in and around Maquoketa. He built the first Decker House, a frame structure, in 1856. After Maquoketa was named the county seat in 1873, Decker decided to replace it. The three-story, brick, Italianate building was designed by Watertown architect W.W. Tucker. Its decoration is limited to the north and east elevations. Noteworthy, is its metal cornice and window hoods. It opened in May 1878, and it had two other competitors in town at that time. Following his death in 1881, James Decker's son Leonard took over his holdings in New York and Iowa. He moved into the Decker House in 1885 and died there in 1900. The building has subsequently lost its entrance porch, original front doors and the pediment over the cornice. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
