The Opel Grandland X is a compact crossover SUV which was officially unveiled jointly by the German manufacturer Opel and its British twin sister brand Vauxhall in the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017, and went on sale for the model year of 2018.

It is based on the PSA EMP2 Platform, and is thus closely related to the second generation Peugeot 3008. In the United Kingdom it is rebadged and sold under the nameplate Vauxhall Grandland X. It replaces the Opel Antara and since August 2019, it also replaces the Opel Zafira as well, and is currently sold in Europe and South Africa.

It was based on a succession of Opel designs throughout its production life, during which it was built in three incarnations. General Motors Europe was responsible for the operation of General Motors ("GM") businesses in Europe. The subsidiary was established by GM in 1986 and operated 14 production and assembly facilities in 9 countries, and employed around 54,500 people. GM's core European brands were Vauxhall and Opel, which both sell much the same range of cars in different markets. GM also owned the Swedish brand Saab until early 2010 and sold Chevrolet models between 2005 and 2015. The U.S. brand Cadillac is imported into Europe in small quantities. In 2009, General Motors (GM) announced to move its European headquarters from Zürich, Switzerland to Rüsselsheim, Germany to strengthen its German subsidiary Opel.

The Opel Insignia is a mid-size/large family car engineered and produced by the German car manufacturer Opel, currently in its second generation. Production of the Insignia started in August 2008, replacing the Vectra and Signum. The vehicle is sold under the Vauxhall marque in the United Kingdom as the Vauxhall Insignia. It has also been sold by Holden in Australia as the Holden Insignia and later as the Holden Commodore, from 2018 onwards. The Opel Crossland is a subcompact crossover SUV, marketed as the Vauxhall Crossland X then the Vauxhall Crossland in the United Kingdom, officially unveiled to the media in January 2017. The car was officially shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017 as the Opel Crossland X. It went on sale in the summer of 2017. At the same time, the Opel Meriva was discontinued, as demand for crossovers and SUVs in the B segment is continually growing at the expense of compact MPVs.
