Steinmetz Opel-Tuning is an automobile tuning company specialising in Opel cars, based in Aachen, Germany. They develop higher performance engines, sports suspension, special exhausts and complete aerodynamic bodystyling kits. Opel Automobile GmbH, usually shortened to Opel, is a German automobile manufacturer subsidiary of Groupe PSA since August 2017. From 1929 until 2017, Opel was owned by General Motors. Opel vehicles are sold in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Channel Islands under the Vauxhall brand. Some Opel vehicles were badge-engineered in Australia under the Holden brand until 2020 and in North America and China under the Buick, Saturn, and Cadillac brands.

Kissling Motorsport was a German auto racing team based in Münstereifel, Germany. Having developed several Opel racing cars, amongst them are the Opel Omega 3000 24V Evo that raced the 1993 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft, the Opel Astra TCR that was raced in the 2016 TCR International Series. The Opel Vectra GTS V8 DTM was a last-ever DTM touring car constructed by the German car manufacturer Opel. It was developed in mid-2002 with an upon completion in late-2003 and has been raced in 2004-2005 DTM seasons with small success before the automotive company's exit after 2005 season due to General Motors was focused on BTCC and FIA WTCC in European sector as well as reducing company's annual costs. The Vectra GTS V8 DTM replaced the retired Opel Astra DTM at the end of the 2003 season and based on the production Opel Astra C. Most notably of the Opel Vectra GTS V8 DTM events was their horrific accident involving Peter Dumbreck at the Zandvoort after his car lost control and rolled several times, but Peter Dumbreck was uninjured.
