Opel India Pvt Ltd (OIPL) is the division of the General Motors India Private Limited which in turn is a joint venture of General Motors of the United States. The Opel brand has been discontinued from India since 2006 and was replaced by Chevrolet. As of 2010, OIPL only provides vehicle servicing and spare parts to existing Opel vehicle owners.

Facilities

OIPL operated a vehicle manufacturing plant in Halol, Gujarat which is later used by Chevrolet Sales India Private Limited to manufacture Chevrolet vehicles for the Indian market. It maintains headquarters in Gurgaon. Halol plant is now owned by MG Motor India.

Opel Automobile GmbH, usually shortened to Opel, is a German automobile manufacturer which is a subsidiary of Stellantis since 16 January 2021. It was owned by General Motors from 1929 until 2017 and the PSA Group, a predecessor of Stellantis, from 2017 until 2021. Chevrolet American automobile division of General Motors

Chevrolet, colloquially referred to as Chevy and formally the Chevrolet Division of General Motors Company, is an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM). Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors founder William C. Durant started the company on November 3, 1911 as the Chevrolet Motor Car Company. After Durant's second ousting in 1919, Alfred Sloan, with his maxim "a car for every purse and purpose", would pick the Chevrolet brand to become the volume leader in the General Motors family, selling mainstream vehicles to compete with Henry Ford's Model T in 1919 and overtaking Ford as the best-selling car in the United States by 1929 with the Chevrolet International.

Vauxhall Motors Limited is a British car manufacturer based in Chalton, Bedfordshire, England. The company, along with the Vauxhall marque, a sister brand of Opel, has been owned by Stellantis since January 2021.

Opel Astra Motor vehicle

The Opel Astra is a compact car/small family car engineered and manufactured by the German automaker Opel since 1991, currently at its fifth generation. It was launched in September 1991 in hatchback, saloon, and station wagon forms. A sedan delivery/panel and a convertible also appeared in the early 1990s. These bodystyles were later followed by a coupé in 2004, the sporty Astra OPC appeared in 2005, the Twin Top retractable hardtop convertible replaced the soft top convertible in 2006, while the Caravan was rebadged Astra Sports Tourer from 2009 onwards.

Chevrolet was the 5th largest car maker in India after Maruti-Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra. General Motors stopped selling cars in India by the end of 2017. However, it continues to provide support for existing customers.

General Motors Egypt

General Motors Egypt S.A.E. is a car and motor vehicle manufacturer based in 6th October, Cairo, Egypt. The company's car factory is located in the 6th of October City and is one of the direct neighbors of the Egyptian German Automotive Company. Despite its name, the company is not a part of the General Motors Company, but only a joint venture with the local importer and car dealer Al-Monsour Automotive Company. Al-Monsour is the largest shareholder and with more than 1,000 workers the official owner and operator of the plant.

General Motors Thailand

General Motors (Thailand) Limited (GMT) is a holding company of sales and manufacturing subsidiaries of General Motors (GM) in Thailand. The company was registered in 1993 as a sales company and opened its manufacturing plant in 2000. At its height, GM Thailand exported vehicles to most regions in the world, including South America, Central America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and Japan. In February 2020, GM announced that it would withdraw from the Thai market and the Rayong plant would be acquired by Great Wall Motors by the end of 2020. The company continued to support existing Chevrolet owners for ongoing aftersales, warranty and service.
