Randhawa is a Jatt clan found in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] The Randhawa name has special significance in the history of the Sikh faith, the first appointed Granthi (Principal religious official and custodian of the holy book- Guru Granth Sahib) was a Randhawa (Baba Buddha) [6] The Randhawa clan is of Indo-Aryan origin. It is one of the first organized groups to officially identify as a “Clan”or “Clansmen” with historic roots orginating from the Indus Valley, various districts of Pakistan and the Northern region of India. Randhawa heritage results from a mixture of Central or Eurasian pastoralists, Iranian hunter-gatherers and South Asian indigenous populations. The Randhawa clan is distinguished for its martial and agricultural prowess. There are also adherents of Hinduism and Islam belonging to the Randhawa clan. [7] [8] [9]
