The Rouse Ranch was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. [1]

It was deemed significant for its association with the Homestead Act of 1862 and "as one of the last remaining examples of an original homesteaded farm in Holt County, Nebraska, that has remained in the ownership of the original family, and as a prime example of the evolution of farming in the region." [2]

Moses Pierce Kinkaid was a member of the United States House of Representatives from the state of Nebraska. He was the sponsor of the 1904 Kinkaid Land Act, which allowed homesteaders to claim up to 640 acres (260 ha) of government land in western Nebraska.

Kyle Ranch United States historic place

The Kyle Ranch was established by Conrad Kiel in 1875 in what is now North Las Vegas, Nevada. The ranch's name is spelled alternately as "Kiel" and "Kyle" because Conrad Kiel spelled his name and ranch both ways. The site is currently managed by the City of North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Division as the "Kiel Ranch Historic Park." As of July 2016, the park is open to the public. The original adobe structure, one of the oldest extant buildings in Las Vegas, a wooden shed known as the "Doll House" and the Kyle Ranch Cemetery are all that remain after loss of buildings through fire and neglect.

Hornbek House Historic house in Colorado, United States

The Hornbek House, also known as the Adaline Hornbek Homestead, in Florissant, Colorado was built in 1878 for Adaline Hornbek, who established a ranch in the area to the west of Pike's Peak in the 1870s. The log house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an example of an early homestead. It is an excellent example of homestead-era log construction, with unusual Greek Revival window trim on one wing. The property includes a number of outbuildings which were relocated to the site. The property was sold to the National Park Service in 1973 and is included in Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.

Staunton State Park

Staunton State Park is a Colorado state park in Park and Jefferson counties, located 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Conifer, Colorado. The 3,908-acre (1,582 ha) park, which opened on May 18, 2013, includes dramatic rock outcroppings, several streams and a waterfall. On December 4, 2012, the property was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Staunton Ranch-Rural Historic Landscape.

Circle Ranch United States historic place

The Circle Ranch, also known as the R.L. Miller Ranch has been continuously operated as a working cattle ranch for more than 100 years. Located in Sublette County, Wyoming, it was first occupied as a homestead by Otto Liefer between 1878 and 1880. Liefer sold his claim to James Mickelson in 1895, who developed the ranch into one of the largest ranching operations in the area. The ranch has remained in the Mickelson family ever since.

The Pilgrim Holiness Church, also known as the Baled Hay Church or the Baled Straw Church, is a church built in 1928 in Arthur, Nebraska. At a time and place in which conventional construction materials were expensive or unavailable, it was built out of baled rye straw. For its unique mode of construction, associated with the history of settlement of the Nebraska Sandhills, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Green Mountain Ranch United States historic place

The Green Mountain Ranch, located southwest on Deckers Road from Buffalo Creek, Colorado, was built around 1900 by Edwin Eugene Culver. There are only two remaining buildings, as the rest were torn down in the construction of Highway 126.

The C.C. Hampton Homestead near Harrisburg, Nebraska, dates from 1890 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a 160-acre (65 ha) historic district. Also known as Warner Ranch, the property included 10 contributing buildings and one other contributing structure.

The Holt County Courthouse in O'Neill, Nebraska is a historic building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located on N. 4th St. between E. Clay and Benton Streets. It was built in 1936.

A.T. Ranch Headquarters United States historic place

The A. T. Ranch Headquarters, in Wheeler County, Nebraska near Bartlett, Nebraska, has historic significance dating to 1906. Also known as The Headquarters and denoted as WH00-19, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The listing included two contributing buildings and one other contributing structure. The main building at this rural site is a two-story house built in 1906 from concrete blocks formed at the site. The building is in Renaissance Revival style.

Wind Springs Ranch is a historic ranch complex located in the Wind Springs Creek Valley in Sioux County, Nebraska. The present ranch, which was built around 1910, was the third European settlement constructed on the property. The ranch has mainly raised cattle and sheep. Settlers constructed two homesteads on the property in the 19th century, neither of which lasted long; the two homesteads only survive as archaeological remains. In addition, the Fort Laramie to Spotted Tail Agency Road ran across the property in the 1800s, and Wind Springs was likely a campsite along the road; wagon ruts still remain along the road's path through the ranch. Researchers have determined the existence of eighteen sites related to European settlement on the ranch; aside from the ranch itself, all are archaeological sites.

Cherokee Ranch United States historic place

Cherokee Ranch, in Douglas County, Colorado near Sedalia, Colorado, has been a purebred cattle ranch since 1954, including raising Santa Gertrudis cattle. The ranch is private property but offers frequent public and private events and tours.

The Darwin Ranch in Teton County, Wyoming near Cora, Wyoming is a guest ranch which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
