SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd (doing business as SCR) is a Malaysian halal-certified chicken rice fast-food restaurant in Sarawak. The chain is operated by SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd which was established in 1987. Since its birth, SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd has grown to become one of East Malaysia's biggest home grown food names with international outlets in Brunei and Indonesia.

History

Originally named as Singapore Chicken Rice, it has rebranded itself into SCR and with introduction of SCR Xpress, which was introduced in early 2007 as another restaurant chains with a distinct blend of the old and new menu. [1] The company formed as a result of Singapore-Sarawak joint venture, with the Singaporean partner bringing in the recipes for the chicken rice. Its operations started out with only 1,200 sq. feet air-conditioned lot in Song Thian Cheok Road. Over the years, the company now boasts a total of 30 outlets to date. SCR is set to expand it branches regionally through franchising efforts. [2]

Locations

There are a total of 30 outlets throughout Sarawak. Among the main locations are in Kuching, Sibu and Miri. It has also open pioneer branches in Bintulu, Limbang, [3] and Sarikei. While in Sabah, it is available in Kota Kinabalu while the others will be opened in Sandakan, Kota Marudu and Keningau. [4]

Pan-Borneo Highway International road route on the island of Borneo

Pan Borneo Highway, also known as Trans-Borneo Highway or Trans-Kalimantan Highway, is a road network on Borneo Island connecting two Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak, with Brunei and Kalimantan region in Indonesia. The highway is numbered AH150 in the Asian Highway Network and as Federal Route 1 in Sarawak. In Sabah, the route numbers given are 1, 13 and 22. The highway is a joint project between both governments which started as soon as the formation of Malaysia in 1963 which comprised Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. The lack of a road network system in Sarawak was the main factor of the construction.

Marrybrown Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian-based halal-certified fast food restaurant chain established in 1981. It was the first local fast food chain to franchise its business in Malaysia with more than 138 restaurants locally. Marrybrown has over 350 international outlets serving fried chicken, burgers, finger food, desserts, and beverages aside from serving Malaysian local dishes such as seafood, rice-based products, noodles and porridge. The Malaysian national rice dish, nasi lemak became the feature list on the menu as 'Nasi Marrybrown'.

Mount Pueh mountain in Malaysia

Mount Pueh, also known as Mount Pueh-Berumput, Mount Poi and Mount Poe, is a mountain located near Lundu, Sarawak on the Malaysia-Indonesia border. Mount Pueh was known to biologists for the collections made there by Eric Mjöberg (1882–1938), a Swedish naturalist, who was Curator of the Sarawak Museum between 1922–1924. Mjöberg's herpetological collections from Gunung Pueh between October to December 1923, and other localities in Borneo, were reported by Smith (1925). Lun Bawang ethnic group

The Lun Bawang is an ethnic group found in Central Northern Borneo. They are indigenous to the highlands of North Kalimantan, Brunei, southwest of Sabah and northern region of Sarawak. In the Malaysian state of Sarawak, the Lun Bawang are officially recognised by the Constitution as native of Sarawak and are categorised under the Orang Ulu people; whilst in the neighbouring state of Sabah and Krayan highland in Kalimantan, they are sometimes named Lundayeh or Lun Daye. In Brunei, they are also identified by law as one of the 7 natives of Brunei, through the term Murut. Nevertheless, in Sabah, Kalimantan and Brunei, the term Lun Bawang is gaining popularity as a unifying term for this ethnic across all region. There are also other alternative names such as Lun Lod, Lun Baa' and Lun Tana Luun.

MASwings Sdn Bhd is a regional airline operating the Rural Air Services (RAS) in East Malaysia. It took over the RAS previously operated by FlyAsianXpress. The first flight was on 1 October 2007, which is also the anniversary of the founding of Malaysia Airlines in 1972.
