Following is a list of officials in the Indian government, along with their respective position or designation in the Indian order of precedence and the salaries and various allowances and emoluments given to them according to legislation.

The President of India has a net salary of ₹500,000 (US$6,000) per month, followed by the Vice President with ₹400,000 (US$4,800), and the Prime Minister at ₹280,000 (US$3,400). Governors receive ₹350,000 (US$4,200). The Chief Justice of India earns ₹280,000 (US$3,400) while Supreme Court judges receive ₹250,000 (US$3,000). Members of Parliament have a base salary of ₹100,000 (US$1,200) plus other allowances.

The Chief Ministers of Indian states have varying salaries, with Telangana's Chief Minister earning the highest at ₹400,000 (US$4,800) per month. Other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra follow with salaries of ₹390,000 (US$4,700), ₹365,000 (US$4,400), and ₹340,000 (US$4,100) respectively. The lowest salaries for Chief Ministers are found in Nagaland and Tripura, with ₹110,000 (US$1,300) and ₹105,000 (US$1,300) respectively. The salaries of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) also vary by state. Each state determines the basic pay for their MLAs and MLCs, which can differ significantly across the country.

Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. There are also members in three unicameral legislatures in Union Territories: the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the Puducherry Legislative Assembly. Only a Member of the Legislative Assembly can work as a minister for more than 6 months. If a non-Member of the Legislative Assembly becomes a Chief Minister or a minister, he must become an MLA within 6 months to continue in the job. Only a Member of the Legislative Assembly can become the Speaker of the Legislature.

The Director General of Police (DGP) is the highest-ranking police officer in Indian states and union territories. The DGP is appointed by the cabinet and holds a three-star rank. The DGP is responsible for overseeing the entire police force and law enforcement activities within their respective jurisdiction. This position holds significant authority and plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order, implementing crime prevention strategies, and ensuring public safety. The DGP is usually appointed by the state government and works closely with other law enforcement agencies and government officials to uphold the rule of law and protect citizens' rights.

Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yediyurappa, often referred to by his initials BSY, is an Indian politician. He is currently serving as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Parliamentary board committee since 17 August 2022, which is considered the highest office of authority in the party. He served as the 13th Chief Minister of Karnataka, and he was former Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly between 1983 - 2022 in different timelines. Pay Commission is India's central government organisation set up by Government of India, which gives its recommendations regarding changes in salary structure of its employees. It was set up in 1947 and since India's Independence, seven pay commissions have been set up on a regular basis to review and make recommendations on the work and pay structure of all civil and military divisions of the Government of India. Headquartered in Delhi (India), the commission is given 18 months from date of its constitution to make its recommendations.

Bhupesh Baghel, popularly known as Kaka, is an Indian politician who served as the 3rd Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh from 2018 to 2023. The 2015 cash-for-votes scam was a political scandal in India, the second scandal of its kind since the 2008 cash-for-votes scandal. The 2015 political scandal started off when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of Telangana state were caught in a video footage, aired in the media, offering bribes to a nominated MLA, Elvis Stephenson, for his vote in the 2015 elections of the Telangana Legislative Council. The TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Telangana Police when he was offering Rs. 50 lakhs to Stephenson. Reddy was then presented before the court and was sent to jail. Similarly, with N. Chandrababu Naidu, the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, with Stephenson was aired in the news media.

Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, commonly known as KTR, is an Indian politician and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Telangana Legislative Assembly. A Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha is the representative of a legislative constituency in the Lok Sabha; the lower house of the Parliament of India. Members of parliament of Lok Sabha are chosen by direct elections on the basis of the adult suffrage. The maximum permitted strength of members of parliament in the Lok Sabha is 550. This includes the maximum 530 members to represent the constituencies and states and up to 20 members to represent the union territories. The 7th Central Pay Commission (7CPC), constituted in February 2014 the principles and structure of emoluments of all central government civilian employees including defence forces in India, submitted its report on 19 November 2015. 7CPC's recommendations affects the organization, rank structure, pay, allowances and pension, of 13,86,171 armed forces personnel. Samrat ChoudharyKushwaha, also known by his alias Rakesh Kumar is an Indian politician, who is currently serving as Deputy Chief minister of Bihar under Nitish Kumar. He is a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from the Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been the party president of BJP Bihar State unit from March 2023 to 25 July 2024. He has also remained Member of Legislative Assembly and a minister in Government of Bihar in Rashtriya Janata Dal government. Chaudhary has been a former Vice President of BJP for the state of Bihar and currently elected for the second term as MLC in 2020 after his first term ended in 2019. In 2014, Samrat planned a split in Rashtriya Janata Dal by defecting thirteen MLAs as splinter group of the party, later joining the BJP.
