Screven County is a county located in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 14,593. The county seat is Sylvania.

The Battle of Brier Creek was an American Revolutionary War battle fought on March 3, 1779 near the confluence of Brier Creek with the Savannah River in eastern Georgia. A mixed Patriot force consisting principally of militia from North Carolina and Georgia along with some Continental regulars was defeated, suffering significant casualties. The rout damaged Patriot morale.
The Herbert H. Dow House is an historic house located in the Dow Gardens of Midland, Michigan. Built in 1899, it was the home of Herbert H. Dow, founder of Dow Chemical Company, from then until his death in 1930. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976. The house is open for guided tours; admission is charged.

The Goodall House was a historic house located at 618 Orange Street in Macon, Georgia. It was built in 1859 with Italianate exterior and ornate interior. As of 1971, it had been very little altered and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite opposition from local preservationists, the house was demolished in 1975 and replaced with an office building.
Brier Creek or Briar Creek is a 123-mile-long (198 km) tributary of the Savannah River in the U.S. state of Georgia. It rises in Warren County east of Camak and flows southeast to the Savannah River in Screven County, 12 miles (19 km) east of Sylvania.

State Route 73 (SR 73) is a 78.1-mile-long (125.7 km) state highway in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It connects Glennville with the South Carolina state line, via Claxton, Statesboro, Dover, and Sylvania. Except for a brief portion in the Sylvania area, it is completely concurrent with U.S. Route 301 (US 301). Its southern terminus is at US 25/US 301/SR 23/SR 57 and SR 144 in Glennville. Its northern terminus is at the South Carolina state line, east of Millhaven, where US 301 enters that state.
Dow Academy was a historic school in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States. Founded in 1884, it served as the town's high school until 1958, after which its building, a Georgian Revival wood-frame building built in 1903, became a centerpiece of the Franconia College campus. The building was converted into condominium residences in 1983; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
