Shankleville is an unincorporated community in Newton County, Texas, United States founded by James and Winnie Shankle and Stephen McBride. It was founded as a Freedmen's town, one of over 500 such "freedom colonies" in Texas.

It was built about 1870, and is a four-story, Italianate style timber frame and masonry building. It features round arched windows and a projecting cornice. The building has been restored.
Bals–Wocher House is a historic home located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1869–1870, and is a three-story, Italianate style brick dwelling with heavy limestone trim. It has a low hipped roof with deck and paired brackets on the overhanging eaves. It features stone quoins and an off-center arcaded loggia.
The F.X. Rittenmeyer House is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. Built in the mid-1870s, this two-story brick house is a typical residential building found in Iowa City from this era. While it lacks the elaborate window hoods and broad cornice typically found on these houses, it does include bracketed eaves. There is also a single story kitchen wing off the back of the house. Somewhat unique to this house is the front porch with its geometrically patterned frieze, which is thought to be a later addition. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Also known as Brown's Corner House, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 1979, for its significance in architecture.
