Philip Banks III is the former Deputy Mayor of New York City for Public Safety and a retired law enforcement officer who served as NYPD chief of department in 2013 and 2014. As Chief of Department,Banks oversaw all patrol and specialty units. He resigned in the midst of the investigations into the Eric Adams administration.

She was also the president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Torres-Springer is the first Filipina to serve as First Deputy Mayor of New York City.

She also served as acting First Deputy Mayor of New York City for a few hours in the morning on October 8,2024 immediately following the formal resignation and departure of Sheena Wright from the office of First Deputy Mayor of New York City until the formal appointment of Maria Torres-Springer to that office in the afternoon that same day in accordance with Executive Order 45 released on September 26,2024 by Mayor Eric Adams. Williams-Isom holds the James R. Dumpson chair of child welfare studies at Fordham Graduate School of Social Service. She was the chief operating officer and later the chief executive officer of the Harlem Children's Zone.
